GoDigital launches OKTO platform for cashless transactions

OKTO is an entire ecosystem where customers can pay, earn and redeem rewards, while SMEs benefit from a fully customizable, tailor-made solution that can easily fit their needs without stretching their resources.

To help Filipino consumers and small and medium businesses (SMEs) in taking their first step in digital transformation, GoDigital, a locally-owned and operated Innovation Lab, launched the OKTO, a platform for cashless transactions and digital hub for loyalty and rewards programs.

OKTO is an entire ecosystem where customers can pay, earn and redeem rewards, while SMEs benefit from a fully customizable, tailor-made solution that can easily fit their needs without stretching their resources.

The OKTO platform has three components, namely OKTO Pay, OKTO Loyalty, and OKTO POS. While OKTO Pay is an enabler for cashless transactions, OKTO Loyalty is what you can use to reward your customers, and build affections towards them. OKTO POS is the bridge for merchant-partners to be able to fully utilize the features of the application.

OKTO Pay is a platform wherein customers and merchants alike can do cashless transactions using OKTO’s digital wallet. Transactions can be done by customers as long as they have their mobile phones or tablet and the OKTO app installed. For SMEs, the company offers merchant app which allows them to do cashless transactions into their stores, to have additional stream of revenues and allows bills payment and sells load by using their codes in NFC devices that they provide. Customers can also track all their transactions through their mobile devices.

A standalone handheld device for cashier’s use, the merchant app is now available in the market. It will be given once merchants are onboarded to OKTO while the consumer app is available to download in the PlayStore and AppStore .

For merchants to build long-time value through rewarding, the company created the OKTO Loyalty platform with a fulfillment module or a customer reward creator that they can customize, to build whatever campaign they want, give rewards to whoever they want, and everything that they wanted to do.

Through OKTO Loyalty, users can earn points either through transactions by paying cash, by paying through OKTO, by scanning QR codes in the store or outside the store, and other rules that merchants can actually set. The platform also gives users a way to view their points, and all available promotional campaigns. For merchants, the platform gives all possible reports that they can see so they can gauge what campaigns are actually affected and not affected. OKTO Loyalty will be available on the OKTO app on the third week of March. For merchants, it is now available.

According to Roland Christian Chua Jr., chief technology officer at GoDigital, one of the key features of OKTO Pay and OKTO Loyalty is to make sure they work whether users are online or offline.

OKTO POS is an all-in-one, customizable and easy-to-use POS system to help SMEs simplify and streamline inventory management, sales, and cash flow. OKTO POS provides SMEs with a simple POS platform complete with inventory management, cashless transactions and custom reports complete with a full-fledged back-end office giving SMEs, whether retail or service, a complete platform that fits their budget.  The platform, which tracks real-time data, works with the traditional POS devices and has version for mobile.

Chua said that before they release the OKTO POS platform to merchants, they have to communicate with them, ask for their customization or business needs for them to understand their business processes. If there is customization, what they do is to have an initial planning and customization phase before they turned it over to the merchant. “They still have to onboard with us and we do an initial process for the onboarding. That’s the time we release a merchant the OKTO POS just for them,” said Chua.
