Globe is most consistent PH mobile operator for Q1 2022 – Ookla

Based on the latest Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data in the country, Globe had a nationwide consistency score of 79.45 from January to March 2022 compared to 70.43 in the same period last year.  The upward trend continues as Globe’s current score is even higher than the 79.02 registered during the fourth quarter of 2021.

Globe was the most consistent Philippine mobile operator in the first quarter of the year, according to global analytics firm Ookla. In addition to this, Globe also won the best 5G mobile video award for the period of Q3-Q4 2021.

This translates to a better video experience for Globe customers using social media and streaming platforms such as Facebook Live, Netflix, and YouTube and those engaged in online gaming.

Based on the latest Ookla Speedtest Intelligence data in the country, Globe had a nationwide consistency score of 79.45 from January to March 2022 compared to 70.43 in the same period last year.  The upward trend continues as Globe’s current score is even higher than the 79.02 registered during the fourth quarter of 2021.

Calabarzon topped the list of areas with an improved consistency score for the first quarter with 81.26, followed by Central Visayas with 73.95. Bicol recorded a score of 73.02.

The mobile consistency score is determined by the number of tests taken that are above a certain speed threshold. The higher the figures, the more likely for consumers to enjoy acceptable internet performance and quality.

As part of its efforts to deliver a #1stWorldNetwork, Globe spent an unprecedented P92.8 billion in 2021 to build 1,407 new cell sites, roll out 1.4 million fiber-to-the-home lines, and fire up more than 2,000 5G outdoor sites and in-building solutions.

This year, it is spending P89 billion to build new cell sites, upgrade existing sites to 4G/LTE, accelerate the rollout of 5G connectivity, and boost the fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.

Globe aspires to provide digital enablement across all sectors of Philippine society.  This is one of the company’s ESG priorities as aligned with the global telecommunications industry.  Globe strives to address this material issue in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, which highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development.
