Filipino households can now experience lighting solutions that can be integrated with other devices to offer more convenience as smart lighting maker Signify, formerly Philips Lighting, launched the latest range of WiZ Smart Connected Lighting in the Philippines.
The newly-unveiled line, an extension of the Philips Smart LED with WiZ connected portfolio, boasts of easily customizable 16-million color range fit for any mood or occasion, and supports Matter which enables compatible devices and systems to connect and interact securely.
“As a world leader in lighting, we aim to pave the way for the modern Filipino to achieve endless possibilities with our lighting products. With this launch of WiZ Smart Connected Lighting range of products, we believe this will usher in a new era of connected lighting in Filipino household,” said Yvonne Pan, general manager at Signify Philippines.
Pan said they invest a lot in research and development to make lighting impactful to home users. They extend the volume of brand to include not just Philips but also tech knowledge and innovations such as smart lighting knowledge which they believe will create a revolutionary breakthrough in the Philippines.
The launch of WiZ smart connected lighting happened at the time the Smart Home market in the Philippines is on the rise. According to Paolo Royol, Signify Philippines’ commercial leader, consumer channel, there is a report that shows a huge 71% increase in the demand for Smart Home controls and connectivity devices. He said the Smart Home market is over US$200-million and it is projected to reach US$510-million by 2028.
Royol also mentioned that there is a report that shows that Filipinos have an increased interest in energy management, which means they are conscious about the energy they are consuming, the electricity cost and bills.
Smart lighting systems can help manage these issues. The home lighting market has a penetration rate of around 8%, and will increase to around 22% to 24% by 2028.
“With the increased penetration of home lighting, we believe Filipinos now are more than ready to integrate smart technologies into their homes. With its intuitive features, we truly believe that WiZ is a game changer in the smart lighting industry,” said Royol.
The WiZ line equips homes with an assortment of smart lighting such as smart bulbs, light strips, to portable lamps with support of a Wi-Fi and accessories that ensures maximum customization for users’ home.
Through a Wiz app, the WiZ smart lighting can be upgraded to Matter which supports the universal open standard and enables compatible devices and systems to connect and interact securely. This makes WiZ smart lighting products work with major smart home platforms such as Apple, Amazon Alexa, Google, and Samsung, which brings reliability to the bulbs and flexibility to control lighting via home automation.
“The compatibility with Matter is crucial as it creates a smart home ecosystem across platforms that allow consumers to enjoy enhanced personalized experiences by exploring the beautiful preset light modes or creating their own presets,” said Royol.
With Matter, users can create experiences that fit their preferences or adapt to their schedules through dynamic light modes and dual-zone control; customized roles and access for multi-users; a user-friendly full-access voice control experience; and a high standard of security for added privacy.
The WiZ products are easily controlled through several easy methods, including WiZ smart accessories, voice control, and the WiZ mobile app, which Signify also boosted with WiZ SpaceSense, an innovation that lets you set smart lights to be triggered by motion without additional sensors, but Wi-Fi signal sensing technology instead. The app is available for download in both Apple Apps Store and Google Play.
Wiz products are available both online via Lazada and Shopee flagship stores, and in Philips Lighting authorized retailers nationwide.
