PLDT partners with homegrown app Sparkle for customer convenience

Under this partnership, Filipinos overseas can purchase mobile prepaid load and data, access hundreds of billers and pay their bills online, and shop for electronic gifts to send to loved ones.

Guided by its mission to continuously look for ways to strengthen the ties of overseas Filipinos with their families back home, PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) teamed up with homegrown delivery app Sparkle to provide their customers with more access to online retail services. PGC is the international arm of the Philippines’ largest integrated network PLDT, Inc (PLDT).

Under this partnership, Filipinos overseas can purchase mobile prepaid load and data, access hundreds of billers and pay their bills online, and shop for electronic gifts to send to loved ones. Sparkle is also home to hundreds of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that offer home-cooked meals, and also offers a same-day delivery service for customers. Soon, the app will open a feature that allows customers to shop virtually with their family.

“Sparkle started as a food-centered delivery app that provided a platform for MSMEs to gain income and provide work to hundreds of riders who have been displaced by the pandemic lockdowns. Our partnership with PLDT Global allows us to reach more Filipinos and provide them with a new and convenient way to take care of their families back home,” said Jay-Ar Sta. Ana, CEO at Sparkle Star International.

“It has been our mission to connect our customers, particularly overseas Filipinos, to digital products and services that could help them improve the quality of their lives and the quality of their connection to their families back home. This partnership allows us not only to provide them with access to internet and bills payment and other digital services, but it also allows us to nurture partnerships with young entrepreneurs who dare to change the world, one app at a time,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PGC.

Customers simply need to download the Sparkle app via Google Play Store or Apple App Store and register. They can choose the service that they need – pay bills, buy load for their Smart or TNT mobile prepaid, or purchase e-gifts, select the biller, merchant, or store, fill-in the necessary information, checkout, and enjoy the service.
