Mandaluyong e-OVR app powered by PayMaya

The initiative is in line with the Tiger City’s goal of leveraging innovative technologies to strengthen its digital ecosystem. The e-OVR app, developed by Lexys Technologies, is equipped with PayMaya Digital Invoice linked to PayMaya’s online payment gateway.

Mandaluyong City tapped digital financial services leader PayMaya to enable its Electronic Ordinance Violation Receipt (e-OVR) app, the first electronic traffic management app with integrated digital payments invoicing in the country.

The initiative is in line with the Tiger City’s goal of leveraging innovative technologies to strengthen its digital ecosystem. The e-OVR app, developed by Lexys Technologies, is equipped with PayMaya Digital Invoice linked to PayMaya’s online payment gateway.

Traffic enforcers in Mandaluyong City will be enabled with a smartphone with the e-OVR app, allowing the City’s Traffic and Parking Management Office to monitor and record traffic violations efficiently. Data is transmitted to the City’s centralized portal, which can also alert traffic enforcers and motorists if there are unsettled penalties.

On the other hand, citizens will now have a more convenient way to settle traffic fines when they receive notifications from Mandaluyong City. They can pay for their penalties in real-time and with just a few clicks using their mobile number linked to their PayMaya account, as well as any credit, debit or prepaid card and other e-wallets through PayMaya’s online payment page.

“We are proud to introduce this innovative way to enforce and settle traffic violations with the aid of digital payment technologies. PayMaya’s solutions will allow us to provide convenience to citizens and promote transparency in handling traffic violations,” said Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos.

For his part, PayMaya Founder and CEO Orlando Vea said: “We are truly honored to be Mandaluyong’s partner with this first-in-the-market innovation. This initiative is another major step towards building the City’s digital ecosystem, promoting greater safety and convenience among its citizens and workers.”

PayMaya and Mandaluyong City have been working together to build a well-connected and cash-lite community.

In October last year, Barangay Namayan in Mandaluyong chose PayMaya to facilitate the digital disbursement of salaries and allowances of its employees to their PayMaya account. In March 2020, PayMaya also partnered with the City so its public senior high school students can receive their allowance from the Local Government through PayMaya’s quick and efficient disbursement platform.

PayMaya is the only end-to-end digital payments ecosystem enabler in the Philippines, with platforms and services that cut across consumers, merchants, communities, and government.

It provides more than 41 million Filipinos with access to financial services through its consumer platforms. Customers can conveniently pay, add money, cash out or remit through its over 380,000 digital touchpoints nationwide. Its Smart Padala by PayMaya network of over 60,000 partner agent touchpoints serves as last-mile digital financial hubs in communities, providing the unbanked and underserved access to digital services. Through its enterprise business, it is the largest digital payments processor for key industries in the country, including “every day” merchants such as the largest retail, food, gas, and eCommerce merchants, as well as government agencies and units.
