Lenovo strengthens retail presence in Phl, opens mobile exclusive stores

Lenovo has announced the opening of the company’s first two Lenovo Mobile Exclusive Store for smartphones and tablets in Metro Manila. The back-to-back opening of Lenovo’s concept stores in SM Mall of Asia and SM BF Paranaque is part of the company’s Attack strategy to seize the growth opportunity offered by the vibrant Philippine smartphone and tablet markets.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the Philippines is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets with a market size of 2.6 million last year and is expected to reach 3.6 million this year. Also according to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker, tablet shipments to the Philippines grew 54.4% in Q2 this year.

Lenovo country general manager Michael Ngan shares, “Lenovo is determined to win in the PC Plus world and strengthening our retail presence across the country with the opening of our first two concept stores in Metro Manila is a strategic move for us. Both malls are located in areas that are major trade and business centers in the Philippines.”

He adds, “We expect to open two more concept stores before the year ends to help us further strengthen our retail footprint nationwide.”

Visitors can now experience the features of Lenovo mobile products such as the Lenovo P780, Lenovo K900 and the most recently launched A-series A269i, A369i, A516 and A850 and tablets such as the Lenovo A1000 and A3000 and find out which smartphone or tablet best suits their needs and lifestyles. It will also display and sell Lenovo accessories.

The two concept stores will be managed and operated by Bluelit Gadgets, Lenovo’s retail partner through its exclusive distributor for smartphones, Open Communications. It is the 2nd Lenovo concept store at SM Mall of Asia and the 1st concept store at the newly opened SM BF Paranaque.

Lenovo opened its first Lenovo Mobile Exclusive Store (LMES) in Gaisano Mall Davao in October. To date, the company has three concept stores dedicated to smartphones and tablet and 20 concept stores dedicated to Lenovo’s PC business located in major shopping malls nationwide.
