PLDT Enterprise brought a wider range of connectivity and digital solutions closer to businesses and government organizations in the Zamboanga Peninsula, addressing practical needs such as connectivity in remote locations, mobile work, cybersecurity, and more connected operations.
The solutions were presented at the Enterprise Connectivity Forum Zamboanga – Redefining Wireless Possibilities, held on September 29, 2026 at the Ibiza Ballroomof Palacio Del Sur of Marcian Garden Hotel, where 75 participants from various business and government agencies joined the forum. Participants represented sectors including fishing, agriculture, hospitality, education, government, and manufacturing, alongside PNP, DICT region IX, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, West Metro Medical Center to name a few.
The event marked the first PLDT Enterprise Wireless Summit dedicated to Zamboanga Peninsula businesses. The forum highlighted how organizations can find the tailored digital solutions most relevant to them depending on how and where they operate.
“For Zamboanga businesses, connectivity requirements can vary widely, especially when operations extend beyond traditional office locations. We want customers to have practical options they can match to their people, sites, and day-to-day needs,” said Josh Montecillo, Head of Enterprise & International Wireless Product Management, PLDT Enterprise.
Connecting businesses wherever they operate
PLDT Enterprise presented connectivity options that can support different business environments, from fiber for fixed locations and wireless connectivity for greater mobility to PLDT Satellite Internet powered by Starlink for locations where terrestrial connectivity may be difficult or unavailable.
PLDT Enterprise is an authorized Starlink reseller in the Philippines, with its satellite offering designed to complement its fiber, wireless, and other connectivity services, particularly for remote and hard-to-reach areas.
The forum also covered Mobile Private Network (MPN), which provides an enterprise with a dedicated digital infrastructure that can give it greater control over connectivity, performance, and security for critical operations; perfect for industries requiring reliable, low-latency connectivity and a safe network environment.
Beyond connectivity, IoT solutions can provide businesses with greater visibility over connected devices and operations, while cybersecurity solutions can help organizations strengthen protection as more processes, communications, and transactions move online. PLDT Enterprise’s IoT portfolio includes capabilities for monitoring devices, assets, and operations using real-time information.
Supporting Zamboanga’s local industries
The technologies discussed at the forum have different potential applications across Zamboanga Peninsula’s local industries.
For the fishing sector, connectivity and monitoring tools can help businesses manage distributed operations, including company assets and fleets, while satellite connectivity can provide another option for remote or difficult-to-connect sites. Zamboanga Peninsula is particularly significant to the country’s sardine industry, as the region is a major center for sardine fishing and processing, with Zamboanga-based canneries supplying a substantial share of the country’s canned sardines.
For agriculture, IoT technology can support real-time monitoring and data-driven management of agricultural operations.
For hospitality, reliable business connectivity and Wi-Fi can help establishments support both daily operations and guest connectivity, while education institutions can use reliable internet and digital infrastructure to support connected campuses and learning environments. PLDT Enterprise’s existing business connectivity portfolio supports separate employee and guest Wi-Fi networks, while its education partnerships include campus connectivity applications.
For government, a mix of fiber, wireless, and PLDT Satellite Internet powered by Starlink can provide connectivity options for offices and operations, including those in remote or underserved areas. For manufacturing, technologies such as Mobile Private Network can support connected equipment and applications that require dedicated enterprise connectivity.
These examples reflect PLDT Enterprise’s broader role beyond wireless connectivity, bringing together fixed-line, wireless, and ICT capabilities based on the requirements of each organization.
“Zamboanga has a diverse business community, from fishing and agriculture to hospitality, education, government, and manufacturing. Our focus is to understand what local customers need and help them use technology in practical ways that can support their operations and growth,” said Jiggs Calixto, AVP and Mindanao Customer Relationship Management Head of PLDT Enterprise.
Through the forum, PLDT Enterprise aims to help existing and prospective customers better understand the connectivity and digital solutions available to them and how these can respond to specific business requirements, in support of the growth of local industries.
