Sonak Group delivers retail experiences in PH, SEA with MuleSoft

Established in 1966, Sonak is a global trading business with a presence in the Philippines and Singapore, supplying sporting goods and equipment from brands like Molten, Mikasa, Asics, and Onitsuka Tiger.

Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, announced that Sonak Group (“Sonak”), an importer, distributor and retailer of sporting goods in the Philippines and across Southeast Asia, is using MuleSoft to transform its retail platform into one where brands and customers are connected and empowered across multiple sales channels. With MuleSoft, Sonak’s new digital infrastructure has enabled the company to advance with new offerings and automations.

Established in 1966, Sonak is a global trading business with a presence in the Philippines and Singapore, supplying sporting goods and equipment from brands like Molten, Mikasa, Asics, and Onitsuka Tiger.

Sonak has engaged with MuleSoft’s Professional Services team at the onset of their digital transformation journey as their trusted technology partner and advisor. The brand has been on a digital transformation journey with MuleSoft since 2019, to revamp their legacy systems into a full-scale digital infrastructure. Their goal was to provide customers with a world-class retail system including the ability to launch and run multiple eCommerce platforms. Using data and analytics, Sonak also aims to empower their store team with a single source of truth about their customers.

With MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, an enterprise API and integration platform, Sonak has built a digital infrastructure boasting features such as customer service management, customer loyalty programs, omnichannel selling and fulfillment, and digital marketing capabilities. The flexibility of Anypoint Platform also enables Sonak to expand rapidly into new eCommerce channels, onboard new customers, and achieve customer and brand-level personalization, without requiring extensive hours or resources.

Sonak has also been able to integrate new systems to improve employee productivity and operational efficiency through Anypoint Platform and Salesforce Service Cloud. Since early 2022, new integrations to their digital infrastructure include an automated inventory reconciliation system, a sales integration for posting online and offline sales in their ERP, and an HR management solution linked to the company’s biometric timekeeping systems. The versatile digital infrastructure, powered by APIs, allows Sonak to expand quickly into new markets and partnerships, as the need arises.

“In today’s fast-evolving digital environment, customer demands are constantly changing. Real-time APIs and data connectivity are essential in ensuring we can adapt to these changes, and deliver on customer expectations quickly,” said Kabir Buxani, CTO, Sonak Group. “MuleSoft enterprise integration solutions have enabled us to implement technologies like an omnichannel eCommerce platform and a multi-brand loyalty program with these objectives in mind.”

“Digital agility is a critical factor for businesses to navigate economic uncertainties and increasingly complex digital landscapes. With an API-led approach, companies can deliver more agile and resilient business outcomes by creating packaged capabilities in a modern API that can be re-organized rapidly,” said Brian Kealey, Vice President and General Manager for MuleSoft Asia.  “This approach has allowed Sonak and many others to change their processes, technologies and systems as needed. We are proud to support Asian businesses like Sonak to create seamless digital experiences for their customers, partners, and employees.”
