Responding to a new business-defined era, Philippine-based storage distributor INFOStorage Corporation has bundled technology from Hitachi Data System with Oracle to offer a solution that assures 24/7 business continuity and high-availability.

The Oracle solution includes the Oracle Real Application Clusters (a clustered version of Oracle Database) running on the Oracle Linux operating system and supporting Oracle VM, the company’s server virtualization offering.

The Oracle Linux operating system offers zero-downtime updates; while Oracle VM being a free, next generation server virtualization and management solution makes enterprise applications easier to deploy, manage and support.

For its part, Hitachi Compute Blade 2000 integrates network, power and server resources into a single, space-efficient, flexible solution.

It is a “relevant (enterprise IT and business) solution which the Philippine market can appreciate,” explained Anthony Agustin Jr., vice president for sales and marketing, INFOStorage. “We coupled our expertise in Oracle and Hitachi.”

He added, “It is a first of its kind in the Philippine IT industry. As an Oracle Gold Partner, INFOStorage is delighted to feature the two Oracle products on Hitachi Compute System in a simplified solution package, providing our customers an edge in protecting and growing their businesses.”

He said, “With INFOStorage’s experience in understanding the IT market, we could bring awareness and educate companies on the benefits of complete ready to deploy solutions and customer needs.”

“We want to have a sustained relationship with our customers,” said Saravanan Krishnan, Business Director, Infrastructure Management Solutions, Asia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems. “Infrastructure convergence is here. This is in response to business outcomes such as mobility, insight or access to right data at the right time and speed and the economics.”

More than two weeks ago, Hitachi launched its Continuous Cloud Infrastructure that will enable services to be delivered quickly and non-stop, while at the same time, the infrastructure is reliable and scalable.

To achieve this, said Arian De Luca, CTO for Asia Pacific, Hitachi Data Systems “the infrastructure will have to be software-defined so that new functionality can be made available more quickly. It has to be highly automated to deliver value in an instant; highly available to serve customers 24/7, extensible to deal with hyper growth; and virtualized to meet the changing demands of business.”Responding to a new business-defined era, Philippine-based storage distributor INFOStorage Corporation has married the capabilities of Hitachi Compute System and Oracle RAC applications, specifically the Oracle Linux operating system and Oracle VM virtualization and management solution, to offer a solution that assures 24/7 business continuity and high-availability.
