Maya, the Philippines’ leading digital financial services platform, is helping modernize the delivery of government services for Filipinos overseas by enabling secure and convenient digital payments for the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).
Through Maya, Filipinos overseas and their families can soon be able to conveniently pay for CFO services using a range of digital payment options, including cards, QR payments and digital wallets. The initiative helps simplify transactions, reduce friction and improve access to government services for Filipinos overseas and their families.
The CFO is the government agency mandated to promote and uphold the interests, rights and welfare of non-resident Filipinos, including permanent migrants, dual citizens, Filipino spouses and partners of foreign nationals, and their descendants. Through its programs and services, the agency helps strengthen the ties of Filipinos overseas with the Philippines and encourages their continued participation in nation-building.
“More than six million non-resident Filipinos around the world belong to the Commission’s constituency. Through our programs and services, we seek to help them maintain strong ties with the Philippines and encourage their continued participation in national development,” said CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II.
“This partnership with Maya will help us make our services more efficient, accessible and convenient while opening opportunities to further engage non-resident Filipinos as partners in national development. Beyond payments, we see potential to explore other ways of helping Filipinos overseas strengthen their economic ties with the country,” he added.
The collaboration supports CFO’s broader modernization agenda by enabling safer, faster and more convenient digital transactions. It also advances the agency’s long-term vision of expanding digital and cashless service delivery across its operations.
“By supporting the CFO’s digitalization efforts, we are helping make transactions simpler and more convenient for Filipinos overseas and their families. This supports the government’s ease of doing business agenda while connecting people to digital financial tools that can improve financial health,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder.
Supporting secure and convenient digital payments for CFO services is part of Maya’s broader work to help modernize public service delivery through technology. As a provider of digital payment infrastructure for government agencies and public sector institutions, Maya helps make transactions more accessible and efficient while supporting the government’s digitalization agenda.
The partnership also complements Maya’s efforts to support Filipinos overseas and their families. Earlier this year, Maya launched rebates on ATM withdrawals and
InstaPay transfers, as well as cashback on mobile load top-ups for loved ones in the Philippines. As the country’s first and only integrated bank-and-payments digital platform, Maya continues to expand access to financial services that help people save, pay and manage their finances more effectively.
