Jobstreet by SEEK, SM Supermalls, PSAC kick off ‘Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S Commitment Signing’

Jobstreet by SEEK, SM Supermalls, and the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) have solidified their commitment at the official launch of the nationwide campaign Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S (Job Opportunities Building Skills).

In line with enhancing the country’s labor market, online job platform Jobstreet by SEEK, SM Supermalls, and the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) have solidified their commitment at the official launch of the nationwide campaign Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S (Job Opportunities Building Skills).

A ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) marked the commencement of the groundbreaking initiative, kicking off with a whole-day job fair at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia on May 9.

The MOA signing was graced by Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Managing Director; Deborah P. Sy, SM Foundation, Inc. Executive Director and Trustee; Witnessed by Teresita Sy-Coson, SM Investments Corporation Vice-Chair Person and PSAC Jobs Member and Lead for J.O.B.S.; Jose Ma. “Joey” A. Concepcion III, Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Lead for Jobs and Go Negosyo Founder; Hon. Bienvenido Laguesma, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary; and Hon. Frederick Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investments and Economic Affairs (SAPIEA) Secretary.

The collaboration seeks to generate quality jobs for Filipinos and help address the job skills mismatch. It strives to contribute to nation-building through activities including a series of on-ground job fairs at SM Malls nationwide and daily online job fairs via Jobstreet by SEEK’s online platform.

Succeeding job fairs will be rolled out nationwide—SM City San Jose Del Monte on May 16, SM City San Pedro Laguna on May 23, and SM City General Santos on May 30. More locations are to be announced soon. Meanwhile, candidates may also check out available jobs at jobstreet.com.ph/page/sm-job-fair.

The campaign offers opportunities across a diverse range of focus industries, each playing a vital role in the economic landscape of the Philippines including but not limited to Information Technology-Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO), healthcare, tourism, manufacturing, and construction. By focusing on these sectors, Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S aims to provide employment opportunities and support key sectors of the country’s economy.

Hirers in need of candidates can also participate in the hybrid career fairs by reaching out to the Private Sector Advisory Council, Jobstreet by SEEK, or SM Supermalls.

In addition to the on-ground and online job fairs, talents can access upskilling features at Trabaho Para sa Bayan: J.O.B.S’ Career Hub on Jobstreet by SEEK’s microsite. They can take advantage of bite-sized real-world career tips and advice from experts, as well as free resources and templates such as resumes and cover letters to help them seek better and land their next dream jobs.

“Jobstreet by SEEK has always been enthusiastic about these collaborations so long as it benefits our Filipino candidates and hirers. We’re honored to have been given the opportunity to work with other like-minded organizations, driving us to continue facilitating better job matches between employers and candidates across the country,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director, Philippines, Jobstreet by SEEK.

The platform also continues to empower small to medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as large businesses through democratizing its all-new platform with Free Lite Ads, allowing employers to post unlimited job listings for free. This lets them enjoy seamless hiring across Jobstreet by SEEK’s large talent pool of over 11.6 million Filipino registered candidates, ensuring greater talent reach and applications.
