Jobstreet by SEEK highlights growing importance of equality and inclusive values in Filipino workplaces

In Jobstreet by SEEK’s latest Happiness Index Report, company values are among the highest drivers of happiness at work. Employees are more likely to feel a sense of pride and belonging when they work in an environment where diverse perspectives are respected, and their personal values are reflected in the organization’s culture.

Shining the spotlight on equality and belonging in workplaces, Jobstreet by SEEK reports that the Philippines leads Southeast Asia in workplace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) adoption, with 63% of companies implementing formal DEI initiatives, far above the regional average of 52%, based on their Hiring, Compensation, and Benefits Report in 2025.

In Jobstreet by SEEK’s latest Happiness Index Report, company values are among the highest drivers of happiness at work. Employees are more likely to feel a sense of pride and belonging when they work in an environment where diverse perspectives are respected, and their personal values are reflected in the organization’s culture.

Across the country, workplace inclusion is increasingly being reflected in everyday practices, with many organizations adapting initiatives designed to create safer, fairer, and more welcoming work environments and making meaningful strides toward creating more inclusive spaces for everyone.

The report reveals that the most common initiatives implemented include deploying policies that address workplace discrimination and harassment, as well as establishing employee resource groups or affinity networks that provide safe spaces for connection and community-building.

Education continues to play an important role in fostering understanding and inclusion. As a result, the leading online job platform shared that more companies have started providing unconscious bias training, mentorship and sponsorship programs for underrepresented groups to help create pathways for professional growth. Many are also conducting regular diversity and inclusion surveys or assessments to better understand employee experiences and identify areas for improvement.

“Inclusion goes beyond representation; it’s about creating workplaces where people feel safe to be themselves. At Jobstreet by SEEK, we recognize that when employees feel seen, valued and respected, they are empowered to be at their best. By fostering a culture of belonging and equal opportunity, organizations can unlock the full potential of their people,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK in the Philippines.

Looking ahead, momentum for workplace equity in the country shows no signs of slowing, with 23% of local businesses indicating that they may adopt formal DEI frameworks this year. This reflects growing efforts to build environments where everyone can thrive and succeed as their authentic selves.

For many professionals, an inclusive workplace is about more than company policies; it is about feeling safe to express one’s identity, being treated fairly and with respect, and having equal opportunities to grow and succeed. This growing focus reflects how organizations are increasingly recognizing the importance of continuing efforts to ensure that every individual, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, background, or ability, feels seen, heard, and valued.
