Honda continues PBA sponsorship as 2020 season resumes

HPI has been a main sponsor for the PBA since 2018, bringing further the competitive and action-packed spirit that the company is known for.

Honda Philippines, Inc.(HPI) announced the continuation of its sponsorship to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), one of the biggest professional basketball leagues in Asia, this 2020 season.

HPI has been a main sponsor for the PBA since 2018, bringing further the competitive and action-packed spirit that the company is known for.

Since its postponement last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PBA finally announced the Philippine Cup resumption, slated this October 11. This move was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases as it released a provisional approval for the league’s “bubble” plans in Quest Hotel in Pampanga.

The league is also considering the NBA’s “bubble concept,” where the teams will stay at designated areas in the Hotel while playing venues will be assigned elsewhere. It will also have doubleheader games every day at the Angeles University Foundation Gym with the first game starting at 4pm then hold disinfection measures at 6pm, before starting the second game at 7pm.

HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi said that HPI is proactive in supporting these fun and exciting basketball tournaments as a company known for its innovative spirit.

“As a basketball-loving nation, Filipinos consider this sport as a way of inspiring and nurturing sportsmanship and companionship. We see the value of partnering with PBA, especially that we aim to become part of improving the quality of life of every Filipino. By doing so, we also support Filipino talents and their love for sports,” Mitsuishi added.

Through this partnership, HPI continues to provide the joy of mobility for its customers. It is also part of its ONE DREAM campaign, which aims to provide Honda Motorcycles as tools in achieving Filipino’s dream and unite all motorcycle riders through various fun-filled activities.

Previously, HPI has also supported and sponsored the local telecast of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the world’s most prestigious basketball league, since it resumed its 74th season last August 21.
