Smart Communications, Inc., the wireless arm of PLDT Inc., is significantly ramping up its 5G rollout nationwide to deliver superior connectivity to Filipinos. As part of its broader network strategy, Smart is gradually reallocating resources from its 3G network to enhance 5G capacity precisely where it’s needed most.

“By focusing our efforts on strengthening our 5G footprint, we’re empowering more Filipinos with faster and more reliable mobile connectivity,” said PLDT and Smart Chief Technology Officer Menardo ‘Butch’ G. Jimenez Jr.  “We are committed to creating a world-class digital experience that meets our customers’ demands today and anticipates their needs of tomorrow.”

“Our continued investments in 5G align perfectly with the government’s push to boost the country’s digital competitiveness and drive inclusive nation-building,” added Smart Chief Operating Officer Anastacio ‘Boy’ R. Martirez. “By providing access to cutting-edge technologies, we enable more Filipinos to fully participate in the digital economy and unlock new possibilities.”

Building on its advancements, Smart introduced ‘5G Max’ in Taguig City last December, offering an enhanced 5G network experience marked by faster speeds, lower latency, and a more seamless mobile experience. The company is now preparing to bring the benefits of 5G Max to Visayas and other key areas across the country.
