Epson unveiled the WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500, its first-ever A3 mono mid-range model in the WorkForce Enterprise Series. Designed to meet the growing demand for high-speed, high-volume printing in the 31–60ppm range, the AM-M5500 delivers a print speed of 55 pages per minute (ppm), offering energy efficiency and seamless operation.

Boosting Productivity with High-Speed Scanning
In addition to its impressive, high-speed print volume, the AM-M5500 features fast scan speeds of 70 images per minute (ipm) for simplex scanning and 140 ipm for duplex scanning. It also introduces advanced capabilities similar to the AM-C4000/C5000/C6000/C400/C550 models, such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) which supports the creation of searchable and editable documents, with the optional OCR Unit sold separately.
Enhanced Design for Improved User Experience
The AM-M5500 boasts an updated design and enhanced hardware options. With a smooth, curved shape, this new addition to the WorkForce series also features a large, tiltable 10.1” LCD touch panel that offers a modern graphic user interface that is consistent across all AM-series models (A3 and A4), ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience regardless of the device selected.
This model is highly scalable, offering options such as a dual cassette for a floor-standing configuration, expanded paper capacity for high-volume printing. It also supports various finishing solutions including stapling, booklet finishing, and a space-saving inner finisher, making it an ideal choice for offices with limited space.
Eco-Conscious Design for Efficient Printing
The AM-M5500 is an eco-conscious printer designed to minimize environmental impact while ensuring stress-free operation. Powered by Epson’s Heat-Free Technology, the Workforce Enterprise printers have reduced energy consumption of up to 85% compared to laser printers, significantly cutting electricity costs and CO2 emissions.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the printer is built with 30% recycled plastic, packaged in boxes made from 80% recycled paper and requires fewer replacement parts and consumables, resulting in minimal waste generation. Other eco-conscious features of this model include a power consumption monitoring tool, which informs users of the average power consumed by the printer across a specific period of time and a green leaf icon that appears when printing or copying in duplex mode, encouraging paper-saving practices.
