Featuring a single-touch fingerprint sensor, slimmer 7.9mm body, octa-core processor, and dual LTE sims, the Mate7 is a big step forward for Huawei which aims to produce a device with a more premium design.  The Mate7 is made up of more than 95 percent premium metal. The handset’s interior structure is made of strong aluminum alloy for superior heat reduction.

To keep the user fully connected whenever and wherever, Huawei optimized its flagship phone with a dual antenna and 4G LTE navigation. Huawei says a smart antenna allows for seamless and intelligent signal switching, detecting the strongest signal and choosing the only the ideal source for emission or reception of data.

“We poured all the cutting edge technologies into the Mate7 to provide users only the best and ultimate performance. Making 4G technology accessible to everyone is our commitment for a better connected Philippines,” said Gavin Dai, CEO of Huawei Technologies Philippines.

The Mate7 boasts of an octa-core architecture, featuring an intelligent Kirin 925 processor that is made up of four large A15 1.8 GHz and four small A7 1.3 GHz chipsets. These enable the smartphone to better manage power. The Mate7 also saves up to 50 percent of the battery by automatically using smaller A7 cores to power standard apps. The larger A15 processors kick in during high-performance use such as gaming.

For those who keep two numbers and rely on fast connection, the Mate7 is the perfect match as it offers dual LTE sim slots – micro and nano. It also features the fastest LTE Cat6 connectivity with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps, enabling you to download HD movies in less than 30 seconds.

All these are supported by a 4100 mAh battery which Huawei says can last as long as two days on a single charge, giving as much as 50 percent more battery life. With Huawei’s proprietary power-saving technology, Mate7 provides three power saving modes – normal, smart, and ultra-power saving.

“We designed the Mate7 to run on high power which the phone smartly balances according to usage. This creates constant stability that the smartphone user craves,” Dai said.

Fingerprint sensor for better security

Equipped with a 360-degree, single-touch fingerprint scanner, the Mate7 enables users to unlock the phone at least 80 percent faster than devices that use a slower passcode or sweeping recognition option. Located on the back of the handset and measuring 9.16mm x 9.16mm, the reader supports up to five sets of different fingerprint records which can be allocated to normal and guest modes. This allows the user to switch modes to enhance protection when securing private folders, apps, or other sensitive information.

Its single-touch feature is due to a higher 508PPI ratio for enhanced reader accuracy, even with damp fingers or under light rain. The encrypted fingerprint data is stored by ARM TrustZone within the chipset and secured by SecureOS, preventing direct access by third parties.

In spite of its 6-inch size, the handset is only 7.9mm slim and weighs 185g. Its ultra-narrow 2.9mm bezel delivers a compelling screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent.

The Mate7 is six grams heavier than Samsung’s Note 4, which has a 3,220mAh battery.

Better images

When it comes to graphics and photos, the Mate7 delivers incredibly crisp and clear images due to its 6-inch full HD in-cell LTPS display. Its JDI Nega-NEO technology brings an impressive 1500:1 high contrast ratio while consuming less power.

For those who tell stories with images, the Mate7 comes with a 13MP rear-facing camera with Sony’s fourth generation BSI sensor and f/2.0 aperture, which assures better photos in low lighting. Meanwhile, the 5MP front-facing camera adopts the industry-leading 5P non-spherical lens for higher definition and less image distortion.

The Mate7 features the latest EMUI 3.0, the new version of Huawei’s intuitive user interface. It makes for easier one-hand operation and features a brand new look across the entire software interface. And true to its consumer promise for easier and streamlined operation, the EMUI 3.0 offers a practical and visually appealing design which further humanizes user-smartphone interaction.

The limited edition Huawei Mate7 is available in rose gold variant with 3GB ROM and 32GB RAM for PhP 27,890 (SRP) in the Philippines.
