HP brings AI capabilities to retail and hospitality businesses

The HP AI Accelerator fits in a range of HP devices including the HP Engage One Pro G2, HP Engage Flex Pro G2, and Pro-C G2, and the HP Engage Flex Mini G2.

AI is transforming how businesses function, how employees work, and how consumers interact with brands. Predictive AI is enabling real-time inventory tracking for demand forecasting and automatic restocking, as well as loss prevention by detecting unusual behavior patterns and unscanned items for potential fraud. Generative AI is enhancing the customer experience through personalized recommendations, improving engagement and conversion rates, and can enable instant assistance via AI agents, allowing employees to focus on higher-value tasks.

The company announced the HP AI Accelerator M.2 Card, powered by the cutting-edge Hailo-10H AI accelerator. This technology is “set to redefine the way retail and hospitality businesses operate, enabling them to harness the power of AI in a more compact, cost-effective, and energy-efficient manner.”

Like all technologies, AI has its challenges. Today’s cloud-based solutions often suffer from unreliable connections and latency, limiting their application. Additionally, high upfront costs and large energy consumption can reduce or eliminate ROI. The new HP AI Accelerator M.2 Card, leveraging the Hailo-10H AI accelerator eliminates these challenges, expanding the opportunity for AI at the edge.

HP will be the first to market with the Hailo-10H accelerator, a state-of-the-art chip designed to bring high performance generative AI to the edge at maximum speed and privacy, while utilizing less power, making AI affordable and accessible.

The HP AI Accelerator fits in a range of HP devices including the HP Engage One Pro G2, HP Engage Flex Pro G2, and Pro-C G2, and the HP Engage Flex Mini G2. Additionally, the card can be installed in other compatible devices such as commercial PCs and workstations that have an available M.2 slot, providing businesses with the flexibility to leverage AI throughout their environment.

HP’s collaboration with Hailo to provide retail and hospitality businesses with AI capabilities marks a significant milestone in technological innovation. By leveraging the Hailo-10H AI accelerator, HP is enabling industries to transform their operations and elevate customer experiences to new heights. As AI continues to evolve, HP and Hailo’s work together will undoubtedly lead to further advancements and opportunities for businesses worldwide.

The HP AI Accelerator M.2 Card will be available in August 2025.
