PLDT Global, Venio team up to enhance services for overseas Filipinos

This collaboration aims to expand the reach and impact of PLDT’s products and services, specifically targeting the overseas Filipino community in the United States.

PLDT Global Corporation (PLDT Global), the international unit of the Philippines’ leading telco and digital services provider of PLDT, has teamed up with Venio, a U.S.-based fintech company specializing in payment solutions, remittances, and financial services. This collaboration aims to expand the reach and impact of PLDT’s products and services, specifically targeting the overseas Filipino community in the United States.

At the heart of this partnership is Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo), a one-stop online marketplace and app designed to provide overseas Filipinos with affordable communication services and financial tools. TinBo offers the Smart Virtual Numbers (SVNs), a SIM-less Philippine mobile number that Filipinos can use to receive one-time passwords (OTPs) from Philippine-based banks and e-wallets, as well as to receive calls and texts from their loved ones in the Philippines. The app also includes various digital services, e-vouchers, and bills payment gateways for Philippine utilities that cater to the unique needs of the overseas Filipino community.

Leveraging its extensive network and partnerships, Venio will promote and make TinBo more accessible and drive the app’s adoption in key international markets, including the USA, Canada, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. This includes collaborations with Filipino-focused businesses, retail channels, and fintech institutions to ensure that overseas Filipinos have easy access to the app and its services. Venio will also be the B2B partner for the distribution of PLDT’s products and services via Venio’s digital marketplace and retail network.

“We are thrilled to partner with Venio to enhance our service offerings for overseas Filipinos,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PLDT Global. “This collaboration will not only increase the adoption of the TinBo app but also expand the availability of our digital and telecom services through Venio’s established distribution network. Together, we aim to provide a seamless and convenient experience for Filipinos abroad.”

“Venio is excited to join forces with PLDT Global to serve the overseas Filipino community. Our expertise in fintech solutions, combined with PLDT Global’s robust digital services, will create new opportunities for Filipinos in the U.S. and beyond. We look forward to driving the adoption of TinBo and offering PLDT’s products through our platform,” said Warren Platt, CEO at Venio.

For overseas Filipinos, this partnership means more convenient access to affordable communication services and a single platform for all their digital needs. TinBo’s features, such as SVNs and payment solutions, provide a seamless experience for staying in touch with family and managing finances. For retail partners, the collaboration offers new revenue streams and a wider market reach. By integrating PLDT Global’s products into Venio’s platform, retailers can expand their portfolio with high-demand services and connect with a broader customer base.

Venio will leverage its reseller network and business partnerships to distribute PLDT Global products, focusing on overseas Filipino consumers. This includes promoting the TinBo app across Filipino-focused retail outlets and businesses, ensuring that the app and PLDT’s services are widely accessible.

This is aligned with the much broader goal of PLDT to serve Filipinos in every corner of the world.
