PLDT Global expands digital services for overseas Pinoys with TINBO

“This is another way for us at PLDT Global and TINBO to engage with our Filipino communities overseas by providing them with more options to care for their loved ones back home,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PLDT Global, the international retail arm of PLDT.

As part of its steadfast commitment to uplift the lives of overseas Filipinos, PLDT Global Corporation (PLDT Global), through its TINBO (Tindahan ni Bossing) platform, has expanded its suite of digital offerings with online shopping and food e-gift vouchers for its customers.

“This is another way for us at PLDT Global and TINBO to engage with our Filipino communities overseas by providing them with more options to care for their loved ones back home,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PLDT Global, the international retail arm of PLDT.

In time for the holiday season, overseas Filipinos can now purchase Lazada and Shopee e-gift vouchers for their families and loved ones in the Philippines via TINBO. OFWs can buy and send Lazada or Shopee vouchers to their loved ones as gifts – a convenient and more practical alternative from the traditional balikbayan boxes, saving OFWs time and money. Plus, the e-gift vouchers allow their family members or recipients the opportunity to buy the items that they like from the online shopping apps.

Powered by PLDT Global, TINBO is the one-stop marketplace that enables Filipinos around the world to buy load, send food vouchers, e-gifts, healthcare PINs from mWell, and even gaming PINs for their families in the Philippines. They can acquire a Smart virtual number (SVN) through TINBO, enabling them to receive OTPs from their e-wallets and e-banks in the Philippines like Maya. TINBO also enables overseas Filipinos access to a convenient and secured online bills payment platform for their Philippine utilities, and other digital services while outside the Philippines.

Going above and beyond the service of overseas Filipinos

Beyond providing digital services and delightful promos for customers worldwide, 2023 has been a milestone year for PLDT Global. The strengthening of its partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) allowed PLDT Global to expand the reach of their services and provide global Filipinos with relevant tools that empower them digitally at every phase of their journey – from their departure and stay overseas, to taking care of their family’s needs even from afar, and up until they return home and reintegrate into the community.

PLDT Global has also worked with the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) and the Asian Carriers Conference to extend grants to deserving OFWs, offering them opportunities to upskill or support their growing businesses back home.

“Our partnership is a gift that has given us the chance to make a positive impact in the lives of OFWs, from providing them with free wifi access at the DMW to awarding upskilling certifications and farming grants, the Filipino community abroad can count on PLDT Global to provide reliable and customized solutions to serve their best interests,” added Villa-Real.

Aside from the collaboration with DMW, PLDT Global has also explored a wider cooperation with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) to empower and advocate for the welfare of OFWs. This has enabled PLDT Global to serve as OWWA’s partner in providing services to OFWs through access to OWWA Hotline 1348 and digital services on TINBO.

TINBO, through its partnership with mWell, the country’s healthcare mega app, was also recognized as the “Most Innovative Health App for OFWs” by Gawad Galing Global Award of Excellence in Nursing, for promoting health, wellness, and bringing quality healthcare services to families of overseas Filipinos.

“With the help of our partners, this year opened many doors and opportunities for us to further serve global Filipinos and raise awareness about the digital services available through the TINBO platform, ultimately assisting them in caring for their families back home,” added Villa-Real.
