SkyPixel announces 2021 Creative Video Contest winners

DJI and SkyPixel, one of the world’s most popular online aerial photography and videography communities, revealed the winners of the 2021 SkyPixel Creative Video Contest.

DJI and SkyPixel, one of the world’s most popular online aerial photography and videography communities, revealed the winners of the 2021 SkyPixel Creative Video Contest. In two months, the contest has successfully attracted attention from over 118 countries and regions. “It is a joy to see how DJI supports creators every year,” said Sergiomota, winner of the Grand Prize. “The contest has been a great way to meet other videographers and to introduce our work to a broader audience.”

Sergiomota showed us a marvelous visual journey in TUSCANY Through ART. Much more than an aesthetically stunning adventure in Italy, the video takes viewers on a journey across the masterpieces from Friedrich, Dalí, and Van Gogh, catching glimpses of European art history and celebrating the beauty of humanity. “The whole video is built with three pillars: Art, Color, and the Artists,” said Sergiomota. “I want to show how various artists create a fantasy world full of color through the emblematic landscapes of Tuscany.” Judging committee member Mike Bishop sees the piece as “One of the most unique and creative short films I’ve seen and a clear winner, in my opinion.”

Winner of the Pro Video Prize, DCoedel illustrates an impactful yet emotional side of the continent in Feeling África. “The inspiration to create this video was to transmit to people the beauty of a continent that for many is unexplored,” DCoedel said. “People usually travel more to other continents, but Africa has something special that makes it unique.” The piece is an awe-inspiring journey through Africa, showing us the remarkably dynamic relationship between nature and civilization in one of the most diverse places in the world.

In addition to the Grand Prize Winner, DJI and SkyPixel announced the first, second, and third places in the Sport, Travel, Party, Pets & Kids, Creative, Food, and 15s Short Video categories. From Venezia, Italy to Nanchong, China, from the dazzle of fire dancing to the serendipity of a temple, the winning submissions capture impactful, exciting, and intimate stories from all over the world.

Winners this year have been judged and selected by a committee of professional film producers, directors, and well-known influencers, including Sam Kolder, Aaron Liu, Devin Graham, and Mike Bishop. DJI and SkyPixel would like to thank all participants for sharing your amazing works with the world, and we hope you enjoyed the experience.
