Eastern Communications announces solutions to address connectivity needs of customers

The new products include the Global Data Services (EIPL and Global MPLS), Managed Software Defined-Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN), Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection, Managed Wi-Fi Mesh, and Cloud services.

Eastern Communications introduced a lineup of solutions designed to address the connectivity needs of their customers in the modern workplace.

Michael Castaneda, head of sales at Eastern Communications, said they are using the customer-oriented business approach where they focus and develop their products and services around the needs of their customers. “We have to find out the needs and plans of our customers so we can introduce products and services that will help their business grow.”

The new products include the Global Data Services (EIPL and Global MPLS), Managed Software Defined-Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN), Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection, Managed Wi-Fi Mesh, and Cloud services.

The Ethernet International Private Line (EIPL) and Global Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) data services offer high-speed, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint service that transmits simultaneous two-way traffic between customer locations in the Philippines and across the world. Through partnerships with global carriers, Eastern Communications also provides global business connectivity with scalable high bandwidth speeds starting at 1Mbps or higher.

These service offerings are suited for businesses with overseas branches and offices and industries such as banking and finance, manufacturing, transport and distribution, ICT and business process outsourcing.

The Managed Software Defined-Wide Area Networks or Managed SD-WAN which enables enterprises to route traffic across a hybrid WAN, was also unveiled. This solution helps improve routing of bandwidth and optimize network transport services to allow more bandwidth for business-critical apps. It also provides improved network visibility and control, security, and better network planning and operations as users can control the entire network through a single interface and enforce policies with ease based on business requirements.

The company introduced the Managed Wi-Fi Mesh which allows households or small businesses to have access to strong Internet across the entire house or office. With Wi-Fi Mesh, you can create a whole new Wi-Fi network, different from your current router’s Wi-Fi that provides interconnection beyond concrete and multi-stories. And as Wi-Fi Mesh completely covers the customer premise, there will be zero dead spot.

To address DDoS attacks, Eastern Communications offers DDoS protection that encompasses different DDoS attacks to prevent costly downtime for Websites and applications. Through this solution, enterprises can be protected from volumetric, protocol, and application layer attacks which target their operations and resources.

There is a presence of DDoS attack when a server is deliberately targeted with very large numbers of requests, in order to block or crash the server. This attack makes online services unavailable through overwhelming traffic from multiple sources.

The company also promotes Cloud adoption through Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines (VM) and Office 365 offerings.

MS Azure VM is a comprehensive set of cloud services used to build, deploy, and manage applications through Microsoft’s global network of data centers. It acts as an Infrastructure-as-a Service at it offers the ability to provision computing resources on demand, thus saving costs for users.

Office 365, on the other hand, is a subscription plan that includes access to Office applications plus other cloud-based productivity services, making work accessible anywhere, anytime.

Edsel Paglinawan, product and innovation division head at Eastern Communications, said more and more Managed Services-based products are complementing their Internet, Data, and Voice. “We offer end-to-end solutions, from access to the market leaders in cybersecurity to managing the server resources by monopolizing processes and transactions, and more.”
