Ricoh expands projector lineup with its first-ever home theater projector

Introducing the RICOH PJ HDC5420, a new home theater solution can display up to a 300″ diagonal image in spaces such as family rooms, though also in professional business uses such as clubs, museums and restaurants.

Ricoh announced the expansion of its projector lineup with its first-ever home theater projector, which combines the benefits of a business technology with entertainment features. Introducing the RICOH PJ HDC5420, a new home theater solution can display up to a 300″ diagonal image in spaces such as family rooms, though also in professional business uses such as clubs, museums and restaurants.

The RICOH PJ HDC5420 provides images via a six-segment RGBRGB color wheel for richer colors and faithful skin tone reproduction. The RGBRGB color wheel includes sections of cyan, yellow and white to increase brightness and provides the highest possible image quality for movie viewing. This feature, combined with the projector’s true high definition (1920 x 1080 dpi) resolution makes it suited to home theater use.

The RICOH PJ HDC5420 boasts a 0.65″ DLP chip and 16:9 aspect ratio. The RICOH PJ HDC5420 also supports multiple image and color correction modes,. The new projector supports Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), which enables users to display content from a variety of devices.

Movies, TV and video game visuals available in the home have never been so stunning, thanks to technological advances,” said John Brophy, VP at Ricoh USA, Inc. “Our newest home theater projector helps customers get the most out of those improved visuals, by projecting them beautifully, accurately and brightly from a variety of devices.”

Features include: 2,500 lumens of brightness and 9,000:1 contrast ratio; Eco Mode that doubles lamp life, from 3,000 hours to 6,000; true high definition quality picture, with 1920 x 1080 dpi, RGBRGB color wheel for vibrant colors, and a 16:9 aspect ratio; and accepts and displays true HD signals for crystal clear projection of high definition TV signals and movies on DVDs and Blu-ray disks without downscaling.
