This is the scenario that Emerson Network Power wants to deal with as it introduced in the Philippines the SmartCabinet, a pre-engineered integrated rack solution that combines power protection, thermal management, power distribution unit, infrastructure management and monitoring, and security for applications.

“For businesses to remain competitive, there is a need for them to enhance their existing infrastructure to support the shift into connected things,” said Hans Bayaborda, country manager at Emerson Network Power Philippines.

Equipped with Emerson’s online double conversion rack-mounted uninterruptible power supply, the SmartCabinet assures enterprises of protection on their operations and energy savings; and with its built-in rack-mounted air conditioning system, cold or hot air can circulate within the rack for better temperature and humidity control while in operations.

Inside the rack is an integrated thermal management solution that gives protection against dust, reducing breakdowns and extending further lifespan of IT equipment.

There is also a monitoring system which provides central management of SmartCabinet at multiple sites. In case of system failure, users will be notified through an SMS or email alert. When system breaks down, SmartCabinet is furnished with two emergency cooling fans, one at front bottom and one at rear top, to ensure that it remains running while waiting for service personnel.

Designed for deployment to network edge facilities such as retail stores, branch offices, network closets, remote locations, small compute rooms, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the SmartCabinet eliminates the need to build complex computer rooms while improving the speed of system deployment.
