Globe expands fiber support, opens new barangay broadband centers across Visayas

According to DataReportal, the Philippines had 97.5 million internet users as of January 2025, representing 83.8% of the population, highlighting the growing importance of dependable connectivity in everyday life.

Globe AT HOME is making reliable internet more accessible to families across the Visayas through new barangay-based broadband centers that bring application assistance and connectivity services closer to where people live. The initiative helps address the challenge many households face in learning about available broadband services and completing applications, particularly in communities that are located far from traditional service locations.

According to DataReportal, the Philippines had 97.5 million internet users as of January 2025, representing 83.8% of the population, highlighting the growing importance of dependable connectivity in everyday life.

Located within communities, the new broadband centers serve as convenient access points where residents can inquire about Globe Fiber plans, check service availability, receive application assistance, and get guidance throughout the subscription process. Dedicated Globe broadband representatives are assigned within these communities to assist walk-in customers while also reaching nearby households to help more families discover available connectivity options.

By establishing a stronger presence at the barangay level, Globe aims to make information about home internet services more visible and accessible, allowing residents to connect without needing to travel long distances for assistance.

“Reliable connectivity has become essential for education, work, business, and everyday life. By bringing broadband services closer to communities, we are making it easier for more families to access the opportunities that come with a strong internet connection,” said Jimbo Cordero, Globe General Manager in Visayas.

Access to Globe Fiber enables students to attend online classes, conduct research, submit requirements, and access digital learning resources from home.

Families can conveniently complete government transactions, banking activities, bill payments, job applications, and other essential online services without leaving their communities. Small business owners and home-based entrepreneurs can strengthen their digital presence, connect with customers, and support business growth through dependable internet access.

Households can also enjoy seamless streaming, online gaming, video calls, smart home experiences, and AI-powered applications across multiple connected devices.

The expansion continues this June with new broadband centers opening in Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Cebu. Globe has already established similar community-based broadband access points in Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Oriental, Samar, Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Aklan, Capiz, and Antique.

Residents in participating barangays are encouraged to visit their nearest Globe broadband center to learn about available plans, check coverage in their area, and apply for Globe Fiber.
