STT GDC Philippines advances local data center skills development through DC Power-Up 2.0

DC Power-Up 2.0 welcomed a cohort of 27 students, doubling participation from the first intake while maintaining a focused learning environment aligned with industry standards.

ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines announced the launch of DC Power‑Up 2.0, its training and certification program aimed at supporting the development of aspiring Filipino professionals entering the data center sector, as workforce readiness remains an important consideration amid increasing data center activity in the Philippines.

Building on the initial run of the program, DC Power-Up 2.0 welcomed a cohort of 27 students, doubling participation from the first intake while maintaining a focused learning environment aligned with industry standards. The three-day intensive program provided participants with complimentary access to the Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC), a globally recognized certification that equips participants with foundational knowledge of data center operations and infrastructure. As a result,  the top graduates of the program were hired, reflecting the strong potential of the participants and the program’s role in developing industry-ready talents.

The program has also received international recognition, with DC Power-Up nominated for the DCD Holdings Workforce Initiative of the Year Award. Across both runs of the program to date, all participants have successfully passed the DCFC certification exam.

Building a broader talent pipeline

Beyond technical training, DC Power-Up 2.0 supports STT GDC Philippines’ broader commitment to workforce development. The latest cohort recorded improved gender representation compared to the first intake, reflecting continued efforts to broaden participation in the data center sector.
