Visa, GoTyme Bank reach #1 debit card milestone through unprecedented growth

GoTyme Bank, which now has more than 8 million Visa debit card users nationwide, reports significant growth in active debit usage in 2025, significantly outpacing industry benchmarks.

Visa and GoTyme Bank, the Philippines’ fastest‑growing bank, announced today that GoTyme Bank has achieved the #1 position in the Visa debit card market, emerging as the most used Visa debit card in the country.

GoTyme Bank, which now has more than 8 million Visa debit card users nationwide, reports significant growth in active debit usage in 2025, significantly outpacing industry benchmarks. GoTyme’s payment volume increased by over 150% year‑on‑year and now holds more than ₱43 billion in customer deposits, reflecting growing customer trust and strong everyday adoption.

GoTyme Bank was also recognized by Visa for having the highest debit payment volume growth, highest active debit cards growth, and highest contactless transaction growth for issuing, as well as being one of the first Philippine issuers to launch Google Wallet and Google Pay for its customers.

“When banking is made simple and beautiful, customer deepen their trust and adoption with the brand. This milestone reflects the confidence Filipinos place in GoTyme Bank,” said Nate Clarke, GoTyme Bank President and CEO. “Together with Visa, we will continue delivering secure, seamless everyday experiences as we push toward our goal of becoming the largest and most loved retail bank in the Philippines.”

“Our partnership with GoTyme is leveling up the payments experience for Filipinos, enabling innovative, safe and seamless payment experiences,” added Jeffrey Navarro, Visa Philippines Country Manager. “This partnership also aligns with the government’s vision to build a digital-first, cash-lite society,” he added.

This momentum builds on the multi‑year, multi‑market collaboration signed by Visa and GoTyme Bank at the Singapore FinTech Festival in November 2025, aimed at accelerating global digital‑payments innovation across emerging markets in Asia and Africa. Under the partnership, Visa will support GoTyme Bank’s expansion through enhanced card issuance programs and value-added experiences for cardholders, with tailored support in marketing, digital infrastructure, and data-driven financial services.

From on‑the‑spot, free Visa debit card issuance at nationwide kiosks to global experiences for football fans and rewarding everyday spend, GoTyme Bank and Visa continue to deliver banking that is seamless, rewarding, and memorable. Recent customer‑centric innovations, including Google Wallet and Google Pay enablement, further expand tap‑to‑pay convenience for GoTyme Bank cardholders across the world. These are the everyday moments where Banking Made Beautiful comes to life.
