Aputure launches STORM Series and NOVA II

The new STORM lineup introduces advanced lighting features such as improved color fidelity, higher output efficiency, and enhanced flexibility for both studio and on-location shoots.

Global lighting brand Aputure is reinforcing its leadership in the Philippine film industry with the launch of its latest professional lighting systems, the STORM series and the NOVA II, featuring its new revolutionary light engines – the advanced BLAIR and BLAIR-CG.

Frank Cao, Aputure’s Regional Manager for Asia-Pacific, said STORM series and NOVA II underscored Aputure’s growing commitment to the local creative industry not just as a technology provider, but as a long-term partner in storytelling.

“Aputure has long led the way in lighting innovation, setting standards that filmmakers now rely on. With the STORM series and NOVA II, we continue our commitment to excellence, delivering fixtures built for precision, unmatched color accuracy, and true industry-standard performance,” he said during the launch.

Aputure unveiled its newest lighting products in an immersive event held in Quezon City on Monday. Dubbed “The STORM Has Come,” the launch was led by renowned and award-winning cinematographers, Lee Briones-Meily, Neil Daza, and Noel Tehankee. It was moderated by director Antoinette Jadaone, hosted by actress Sue Prado, and attended by key Aputure executives, including Yssa Valdes, Regional Brand Developer for the Philippines; and Marco Lazaro, Community and Social Lead for APAC.

The new STORM lineup introduces advanced lighting features such as improved color fidelity, higher output efficiency, and enhanced flexibility for both studio and on-location shoots. Complementing this, the NOVA II Series delivers powerful yet soft lighting control designed for cinematic versatility, appealing to both independent filmmakers and large-scale production houses.

Beyond a product showcase, the launch doubled as a creative forum. Veteran cinematographers shared how lighting influences tone and storytelling, while attendees explored Aputure’s ecosystem powered by Sidus Link Pro 2.0, the brand’s upgraded control platform. The event highlighted collaboration and education – values that Aputure sees as key to nurturing the country’s next generation of visual storytellers.

“Every frame tells a story, and light is what gives that story life. We’re honored to be part of the Philippines’ vibrant creative scene and to support the professionals who continue to raise the bar for cinematography,” Cao further said.
