Bosch reinforces commitment to help power future of mobility in PH

Bosch aspires to be an even more adaptable advisor to policymakers and manufacturers alike, leveraging its regional experience and strong presence – powered by eight manufacturing plants and two research developments hubs, including successful operations and the Hemaraj plant in Thailsand – to support the development of the EV ecosystem in ASEAN.

Bosch reinforces its commitment to help power the future of mobility in the country through its advanced electrification technologies, connected mobility solutions, and a best-in-class blueprint for building a resilient, future-ready supply chain for electric vehicles (EVs).

“As a leader in electrification and connected mobility, Bosch is at the forefront of the global shift toward electric mobility. Electrification is likewise reshaping mobility in ASEAN and the market for electric vehicles is growing rapidly, presenting pockets of opportunities for different markets to support EV adoption in the region,” explains Joseph Hong, Managing Director for Bosch Thailand and Laos.

Hong adds that Bosch’s Hemaraj plant, the company’s regional hub that exemplifies global standards in EV manufacturing, demonstrates how a combination of consistent policy, skilled workforce development, and agile supply chains can unlock a country’s EV manufacturing potential, including that of the Philippines.

The Philippine automotive industry is evolving as it continues to fully embrace digital transformation and sustainable transport. The next few years, according to Bosch, will bring exciting advancements in connected mobility as part of the country’s transition to a cleaner, smarter transportation system.

“The Philippines has a strong foundation to become a competitive player in EV manufacturing in ASEAN,” says Paulo Duarte, Managing Director at Bosch Philippines, adding that the EV parts ecosystem in the Philippines is growing, particularly for batteries, sensors, electronics, and refined minerals.

Learning from Hemaraj best practices in the areas of advanced localization of components, workforce upskilling, and integration of smart manufacturing practices, Duarte emphasize how Bosch can support Philippine EV manufacturers build a resilient supply chain that drives innovation, job creation, and sustainable industrial growth.

Duarte highlights, “When implemented successfully, these factors can elevate the Philippines as a market that goes beyond EV assembly and into an active player in the future of electromobility in ASEAN.”
