Century Pacific adopts Blue Yonder’s AI

With an expanding product portfolio and a drive to accelerate digital transformation, CNPF turned to Blue Yonder for a solution that would optimize inventory and sharpen demand and supply forecasts, ensuring resilience even in times of disruption.

A vast product portfolio with regional specialization and constant disruptions can complicate lifecycle management, collaboration and supply chain continuity for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies. That’s why Century Pacific Food, Inc. chose to digitally transform its supply chain with Blue Yonder Demand and Supply Planning, part of Blue Yonder’s AI-driven Cognitive Solutions.

As a food company, CNPF is focused on delivering affordable nutrition to its broad consumer base. It is engaged in the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of branded marine, meat, milk, coconut, and plant-based products. At present, the company’s brands hold market-leading positions in the Philippines with a growing presence abroad. It also operates as one of the Philippines’ leading exporters of private-label tuna and coconut products.

With an expanding product portfolio and a drive to accelerate digital transformation, CNPF turned to Blue Yonder for a solution that would optimize inventory and sharpen demand and supply forecasts, ensuring resilience even in times of disruption.

Blue Yonder aims to help CNPF:

  • Generate precise machine learning-driven forecasts: The solution will allow the company to generate demand forecasts by harnessing the best combination of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to analyze all relevant demand drivers. Planners are not bound by causal factors, allowing them to gain clear insights into what’s driving demand.
  • Act with machine speed and precision thanks to AI agents: By utilizing Blue Yonder’s Inventory Ops Agent, CNPF aims to see, analyze, decide, and act with machine speed and precision, even amid disruptions. With the Inventory Ops Agent, planners may be able to match supply with demand by guiding attention to mismatches, exceptions, and systemic issues. The agent rapidly diagnoses root causes and recommends actionable solutions like alternate sourcing, expediting, or demand swaps. It will also highlight necessary plan adjustments based on real-time conditions and communicate changes to ensure downstream alignment.
  • Unify supply and demand planning: CNPF may be able to harmonize its supply chain activities by aligning planners through a shared planner workspace. This drives collaboration, increases planner productivity, and optimizes resource use.
  • Accelerate decision-making with predictive insights: Intelligent planner workflows and event-based planning enable supply chain planners to act swiftly, resolve issues, and achieve key business goals.
  • Adapt rapidly to global changes with scenario planning: With robust scenario analysis, the solution may be able to test and explore options, effectively answering any “what-if” questions, and make strategic planning decisions.
  • Reduce costs and boost inventory turnover: By staging inventory strategically across the supply chain using dynamic segmentation and multi-echelon inventory optimization, CNPF may be able to unlock opportunities to reduce operational costs and waste, as well as enhance inventory turnover across the supply chain.

As part of Blue Yonder Cognitive Solutions, Demand and Supply Planning sits on the Blue Yonder Platform, and is built on a modern and true cloud-native architecture for scale and access to advanced AI capabilities. With inventory optimization and demand planning connected to supply planning, CNPF can ensure forecast precision, seamless collaboration, and optimal inventory placement.

“As we continue to expand our product portfolio and grow our business, we needed a solution that could help us make fast and precise planning decisions,” said Chad Manapat, chief financial officer, CNPF. “We look forward to adopting Blue Yonder’s AI-driven Demand and Supply Planning solution because it has the potential to transform our approach to inventory, demand, and supply management. It can support our growth strategies and aid our company in navigating supply chain volatility and disruptions.”

“CPG brands are increasingly focused on building speed, agility and resilience into their supply chains to effectively streamline operations and manage sourcing and production disruptions. We are excited to be working with Century Pacific to help them enhance their supply chain and demand planning processes using our Blue Yonder Demand and Supply Planning solution,” said Antonio Boccalandro, president, APAC, Blue Yonder. “By connecting demand sensing to supply planning, CNPF can achieve accurate forecasts and optimal inventory placement, allowing them to operate smoothly as they expand and grow in the Philippines and beyond.”
