BYD Cars Philippines unveiled the all-new BYD Tang DM-i, a hybrid SUV that offers a blend of performance, safety, commitment to sustainability, and advanced features. The launch of this vehicle marks a major milestone in BYD’s expansion of its Super DM-i lineup in the Philippines to provide Filipinos with efficient, safe, and technologically advanced vehicles.
The BYD Tang DM-i blends the efficiency of BYD’s advanced powertrain with the versatility and presence of a 7-seater SUV. With the combination of electric driving, premium features, and intelligent safety, the Tang DM-i redefines expectations for family mobility in the Philippines.

Powered by BYD’s Super DM-i technology that combines a turbocharged onboard generator with a 21.5 kWh Blade battery, the all-new Tang DM-i delivers a total output of 271 PS and 315 Nm of torque which enables it to 0-100 km/h in 7.5s. This advanced system ensures energy efficiency while covering a dynamic and responsive driving experience. Having a combined driving range of over 1,000 kilometers and 110 kilometers of pure EV mode driving, the BYD Tang DM-i is designed to support both everyday mobility and long-distance travel, giving drivers the freedom to go further without compromise, and reduce carbon footprint without sacrificing performance.
Regarding charging efficiency, the BYD Tang DM-i can charge from 15% to 100% in about three hours using AC power or from 30% to 80% in 22 minutes via DC charging. The inclusion of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality allows the SUV to power external devices, making it ideal for outdoor adventures, family trips, or emergencies. The Tang DM-i vehicle also delivers a smart and sustainable alternative to traditional SUVs.
The presence of a 7-seater cabin and advanced infotainment features in Tang DM-i ensure every journey feels effortless. There is also a quick access via NFC card and smart connectivity through the BYD app for added convenience. The car also offers seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the 15.6-inch touch screen paired together with the premium 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system to keep everyone effortlessly connected and entertained. Its interior layout also makes it equally suitable for family road trips, daily commutes, or spontaneous getaway.
The Tang DM-i is equipped with BYD’s DiPilot system, a comprehensive suite of advanced safety systems and intelligent driver-assistance technologies, ensuring confidence and security on every journey. Its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) includes features such as adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, automatic emergency braking, and more, helping drivers navigate both city streets and highways with greater ease and assurance. From active collision avoidance to real-time driver alerts, safety is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the SUV’s design.
BYD Cars offers industry-leading warranty coverage for the Tang DM-I which includes eight years or 160,000 kilometers for the Blade battery, eight years or 150,000-kilometer for the electric motor and control systems, and a six years or 150,000-kilometer new vehicle warranty. The all-new BYD Tang DM-i is priced at ₱2,098,000. It is offered in three color options: moonstone gray, pearl white, and silver sand black, each carefully selected to complement the SUV’s commanding design and give customers the flexibility to choose a look that matches their individual style.
