EastWest Ageas’ hybrid work program wins at 2025 HR Excellence Awards

Now in its fourth year, the HR Excellence Awards honor the top HR teams and practitioners in the Southeast Asian region. The Addressing Urban Workforce Challenges category, in particular, recognizes companies that face their employees’ challenges head-on through long-term strategies.

Fast-rising insurance company EastWest Ageas scored a Bronze at the 2025 HR Excellence Awards Philippines’ Addressing Urban Workforce Challenges category. This marks the company’s second podium finish, after it landed among the Excellence in Learning and Development category winners in last year’s ceremony.

Now in its fourth year, the HR Excellence Awards honor the top HR teams and practitioners in the Southeast Asian region. The Addressing Urban Workforce Challenges category, in particular, recognizes companies that face their employees’ challenges head-on through long-term strategies.

EastWest Ageas surveyed employees about how it can improve the workplace environment and found that the staff prefer a hybrid work setup. The employees also recommended enhancing the on-site work experience by adding more meeting rooms and private spaces for confidential work.

With these in mind, EastWest Ageas implemented a Hybrid Workplace Program. This requires employees to report to work on-site two days a week and remotely for three. The company also added more private spaces for meetings and confidential assignments.

EastWest Ageas’ HR strategy has paid off, as employees said that they are now more productive and efficient thanks to the company’s Hybrid Workplace Program. It has also helped attract new talent, with the hiring rate increasing by 5%.

While we celebrate their contributions at EWA, we also desire to see that work leaves them enough room to celebrate personal milestones, as well. We trust our employees enough to employ this program and this recognition firms up our road to maintaining a workplace that is a great place to grow.”

EastWest Ageas remains committed to fostering a workplace that empowers its employees and listens to their needs.
