PLDT and Smart reaffirm commitment to inclusive connectivity at ICT Month 2025 Roadshow in Tawi-Tawi

“As the country’s fully integrated telecommunications and digital services provider, PLDT and Smart are uniquely positioned to enable the Philippines’ full digital journey from connectivity to cloud, from data centers to cybersecurity, and from smart governance to inclusive innovation,” said Gilberto Calixto, Mindanao Customer Relationship Management Head of PLDT.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. continued their support for the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) ICT Month 2025 Roadshow in Tawi-Tawi, one of the key stops in this year’s nationwide celebration themed “Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan”.

Attended by key government officials, community leaders and private sector partners, the event highlights the shared commitment that no Filipino is left behind in the country’s digital development. Supporting the government’s vision of a digitally empowered Philippines, PLDT and Smart continue to invest in expanding their network infrastructure and delivering innovative digital solution – bringing reliable internet access even to geographically isolated and underserved communities.

“We bring our warmest regards and our strongest commitment to connecting every Filipino no matter how far or remote. We believe that Tawi-Tawi, like every other part of the country, deserves to be part of the digital future. That is the heart of Digital Bayanihan,” Calixto added.

This initiative is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, which advocates for building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation.
