Palawan Express Pera Padala holds Global Ka-Palawan Awards to recognize OFWs

This awards program honored the most inspiring stories of OFWs who have made extraordinary impacts to the lives of their families and communities.

Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP), the money remittance arm of the Palawan Group of Companies, held a heartfelt tribute to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

Recently recognized by the International Finance Awards as the Most Innovative Remittance Company, PEPP has long been the country’s most trusted remittance and pera-padala service. To give honor to OFWs being its long-standing sukis, PEPP launched the first-ever livestreaming of Global Ka-Palawan Awards – a first-of-its-kind recognition program celebrating OFWs as modern-day heroes.

The nomination ran from July 10 to October 10, 2024 and was open to both male and female OFWs who have worked abroad for at least one year in any profession. Additionally, their beneficiaries must claim remittances through Palawan Express Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) or the PalawanPay app.

This awards program honored the most inspiring stories of OFWs who have made extraordinary impacts to the lives of their families and communities. Ten grand winners were awarded ₱100,000 each, while 20 other finalists received ₱10,000 each as consolation prizes. The Top 10 winners are the following: Dario Magon (Japan), Crisanto De Jesus (Macau), Zif Bayutas Brady (USA), Czyrise Sadac (Dubai), Roselinda Hagad (Italy), Jun Blancia (Saudi Arabia), Jose Antonio, JR. (Crotia), Prescila Sagario (Oman), Almira Frugal (Hong Kong), and Rochelle Salayon (Saudi Arabia). Winners were officially announced via live streaming on Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala official Facebook page.

Expressing his admiration for OFWs and their remarkable strength, Miguel Mangabat, Marketing Manager for Palawan Group of Companies, remarked, “Our OFWs are more than just breadwinners. They are strong pillars of their families – striving to remain resilient even when they miss birthdays and milestones, all for the mission of giving their loved ones a better life. Through the Global Ka-Palawan Awards, we aim to honor their stories, appreciate their sacrifices, and celebrate their unwavering strength. This is also our way of saying thank you for trusting Palawan Express Pera Padala to be part of their journey. Nananatili ang aming pangako: basta padala sa inyong mahal sa buhay, sa Palawan Express Pera Padala, siguradong makakarating!
