TP champions high-tech, high-touch strategy for stronger industry-academe synergy

TP is one of the key thought leaders in the forum’s highlight activity, the Industry-Academe Link-Up, a platform where delegates explored collaborative initiatives to drive curriculum development, upskilling, and talent acquisition.

TP in the Philippines, a global leader in digital business services and one of the largest IT-BPM employers in the Philippines, gathered more than 140 delegates from the academe, industry, and government at the Talent Forum 2025 co-presented with the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), held at Shangri-La The Fort.

TP is one of the key thought leaders in the forum’s highlight activity, the Industry-Academe Link-Up, a platform where delegates explored collaborative initiatives to drive curriculum development, upskilling, and talent acquisition.

During the Industry Showcase segment focusing on industry-academe collaboration, emerging technologies, and talent development, Vice President of Learning & Development Inkee Hidalgo shared TP’s successful programs powered by Emotional Intelligence (AI) and enabled by AI, “Our role in the industry is to continue to innovate the partnerships that we have today and ensure that we continue to prepare our workforce for the needs of the future. The partnership between TP, the [IT-BPM] industry, and the academe is critical and foundational in addressing the talent needs we’re facing today,” said Hidalgo.

In 2024, TP successfully partnered with industry partners, curriculum developers, and with the Pasig City local government for its TP Skills to Employment Program (STEP). The program achieved a remarkable 88% hire rate and received the Grand Anvil Award nomination and the Gold Anvil Award under the CSR/Public Relations category at the recent 60th Anvil Awards organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

Through the years, TP has consistently engaged in multi-sectoral partnerships to forge programs for skills development and employment opportunities.

Johnson was one of the thought leaders in a panel discussion on building effective and future-proof collaborations.

Entitled “Industry-Academe Link-Up: Collaborative Strategies for Workforce Development”, the Talent Forum 2025 explored “the evolving role of industry-academe collaborations in shaping workforce readiness within the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector, highlighting the Philippine Skills Framework (PSF) as a critical tool for aligning academic curricula with industry needs.”

Capping off the high-level activities of the forum, Chief Executive Officer of TP in the Philippines Rahul Jolly ended with optimism and high expectations for growth as the IT-BPM industry and the rest of the nation further embrace digital transformation saying, “As a people company, talent development is a cornerstone of our strategy at TP. Supporting innovation and curriculum transformation is a commitment that we will continue to drive as we move forward in the talent and skills development journey for our industry and our partners.”

As part of its strategy to accelerate digital transformation and AI-integration for its operations and clients’ businesses, TP has embarked on an extensive EI program for its people. The company is confident that, in the midst of an intensely digitized world, a workforce with highly evolved EI skills empowered by smart and secure AI technologies will be a critical differentiator for businesses to thrive.
