JAECOO’s electric SUV EJ6 arrives in PH

Known as the iCar 03, the EJ6 is another testament to JAECOO’s automotive engineering DNA: the new-energy solution-powered off-road capable premium SUV that touts a fusion of technology, power, and aesthetics.

Promising to bolster the country’s new era of sustainable mobility, Chinese automotive brand JAECOO Philippines announced that the first batch of its fully electric SUV, EJ6, arrived in Manila on October 21 and is ready for its local debut at the 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit.

Known as the iCar 03, the EJ6 is another testament to JAECOO’s automotive engineering DNA: the new-energy solution-powered off-road capable premium SUV that touts a fusion of technology, power, and aesthetics. Guided by the brand’s “off-road trendy” design philosophy, EJ6 is built to navigate various terrains including steep mountain slopes, water, and forests.

The EJ6 is engineered with a cutting-edge six-in-one motor system and full-time electric power, offering two powertrain options: a rear motor with 135 KW and 220 Nm of torque and an all-wheel drive variant with an additional front motor that can produce a total output of 205 KW and 385 Nm. With an 80 KW fast charging battery, EJ6 takes only 30 minutes to go from 30% to 80%. The car also boasts a V2L (vehicle to load) functionality.

The model comes in two variants: RWD and AWD. The RWD variant uses a rear wheel drive mode. This comes with a single motor and a 65.69 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, powering the car to hit a maximum distance of 421 km on a single charge. The 4WD variant, in contrast, is engineered with a four-wheel drive mode, dual motors, and a slightly larger 69.77 kWh battery, allowing it to cover a range of 421 km.

An off-road capable premium SUV engineered for the new Filipino urban elites, EJ6 guarantees an entertaining ride–thanks to its 9.2-inch instrument panel, 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, 50-watt Qi wireless charger, panoramic glass roof, and an optional 12-speaker Infinity sound system.

EJ6 is built with a distinct boxy aesthetic and all-aluminum body. With its compact size  (dimensions are 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height) and wheelbase of 2,715 mm, the model’s light design allows it to hit a 0-100km/h acceleration time in just 6.5 seconds.

We are excited to introduce to the Philippine market another innovation that exhibits JAECOO’s global automotive engineering DNA. We are optimistic that the arrival of EJ6 in the Philippines will help usher in a new era of sustainable mobility in the country,” said Marco Chen, Country Director of OMODA and JAECOO Philippines.

The pricing of the JAECOO cars will be announced soon. Interested buyers can test drive and pre-order the EJ6, along with sister brand OMODA E5,  at the upcoming 12th Electric Vehicle Summit this October 24 to 26 at Booth R07, the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
