Globe Business remains at the forefront of empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through its Saludo SME roadshow. This initiative celebrates the innovation and resilience of Filipino entrepreneurs as they drive their businesses toward sustainable growth and success.

Comprising 99% of businesses in the Philippines, MSMEs are the backbone of the country’s economy, with 90% classified as micro and 9% as small businesses.

To kick off the tech roadshow for MSMEs, Globe Business recently hosted a hybrid event at Seda Vertis North, Quezon City. This activity brought together industry leaders and thought influencers to provide MSMEs with practical insights and digital solutions tailored to their unique needs.

Bela Gupta D’Souza, founder of edamama, an e-commerce platform for parents, shared her expertise in her talk titled “Leveling the Playing Field: How E-commerce is Empowering Retail Businesses.”

She highlighted how edamama leverages e-commerce trends like mobile commerce, social commerce, omnichannel selling, and personalized shopping to drive growth. Gupta D’Souza also stressed the importance of infrastructure in e-commerce.

“E-commerce cannot thrive without the support of infrastructure. Even remote parts of the Philippines today can access online shopping, thanks to these improvements,” she said, sharing actionable insights on how MSMEs can use similar strategies to grow their businesses.

On the other hand, Mina Akram from Go Negosyo spoke about the organization’s efforts in assisting entrepreneurs, particularly in their digitalization journey.

During her presentation on “Building a Successful Business from the Ground Up: Insights and Lessons from Go Negosyo,” she explained how Go Negosyo guides, enables, and empowers MSMEs from the conceptualization stage to scaling up.

“Go Negosyo is the only non-profit organization in the Philippines that focuses on mentorship, and we advocate for a change in mindset for Filipinos to become more enterprising,” said Akram.

The event also marked the official introduction of Mariel Veluz, founder of Sewn Sandals, as Globe Business’s newest Brand Ambassador for the Supply Chain Industry.

Meanwhile, Andrea Tesorero, Globe Business Brand Strategy Head, emphasized the importance of staying ahead in a rapidly changing market. She underscored the Saludo SME campaign’s commitment to equipping entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive.

“To stay ahead of the competition and future-proof our businesses, we must continuously innovate. We need to balance enhancing customer experiences and streamlining operations while seizing new growth opportunities. At Globe Business, we are committed to keeping our partners informed and equipped with the latest trends and solutions. We want to ensure they remain resilient and successful in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving market,” she said.

At the event, digital solutions partners such as m360, Prosperna, Samsung, Yahshua Cloud Payroll Solutions, and Zayls showcased their latest innovations designed to help MSMEs improve their operations and boost their competitiveness.

Consultation pods were set up outside the event hall, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with brand representatives. This allowed them to address any questions or concerns about products and services presented during the event.

Meldon Denina, Globe Business Head for NGMA Sales and Account Management, emphasized the vital role of the human element in business success: “It is crucial to remember that technology is merely a tool. Even with digital advancements, success stories, and groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence, it is the people using them for good and for progress that truly make a difference.”
