Epson Philippines upcycles over 200 kilograms of recyclables

Launched in partnership with Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc., Epson has repurposed 213 kilograms of recyclable materials as of June 2024, preventing them from ending up as waste.

Epson Philippines Corporation, the Philippine office of the global technology leader, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability through Epson’s Corporate Waste Collection Program. Launched in partnership with Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc., Epson has repurposed 213 kilograms of recyclable materials as of June 2024, preventing them from ending up as waste.

The initiative, which began in October 2023 in the city of Davao, engages select dealers of corporate printers in collecting empty ink cartridges, bottles, and boxes, which Envirotech transforms into school chairs and tables, tiles, pallets, bricks, pots and planters, lamps, garbage bins, and the like.

Within six months from the launch of the program, which saw an initial 106 kilograms of recyclable materials collected, this figure has more than doubled as of June 2024, thanks to the active participation of Epson’s partner dealers. This demonstrates the company’s shared mission and vision of sustainable operations with its stakeholders and partners.

Building on the successes, Epson plans to expand the program to Manila and Cebu later this year, engaging more dealers and B2B channel partners in the collaborative push towards sustainability.

“At Epson, we are committed to promoting sustainability across the value chain and implementing a circular economy where possible. This program demonstrates what can be done to reduce waste and our overall environmental footprint,” Epson Philippines President and Director Masako Kusama said. “We are excited to see this program further expand, so that we can have a greater positive social impact to more communities in the Philippines.”
