Philippine Red Cross teams up with PDAX Donate for crypto donations

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has announced its partnership with the PDAX, to facilitate easier, faster, and seamless cryptocurrency donations as it continues to aid the Filipino community.

“For decades, PRC has been a lifeline for Filipinos nationwide, especially in remote areas. Working with PDAX to facilitate Filipinos’ donations to support our vital humanitarian efforts will ensure that we are able to amplify the impact of our initiatives, thus fostering a powerful synergy between technology and compassion for lasting change,” said Richard “Dick” Gordon, Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO.

In recent years, crypto’s role has evolved to include cross-border money transfers. Many non-profit organizations now acknowledge its potential to facilitate transparent and efficient donations, prompting the widespread adoption of this technology for global charitable initiatives.

According to 2022 data from The Giving Block, a crypto-donations company, at least 1,000 organizations contributed $125 million worth of cryptocurrencies through their platform. The crypto donation sector is expected to grow by over $10 billion in the next 10 years.
