Smart to launch new, more affordable mobile broadband devices, connecting more Filipinos

Aside from offering faster LTE Cat 6 or more advanced LTE broadband devices in the coming months, Smart is also relaunching its Smart Rocket WiFi 5G at a more affordable price point to make it accessible to more customers.

PLDT’s wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is boosting its array of mobile broadband devices to support Filipinos’ need for more data amid the increase in mobility and the revival of the economy.

Aside from offering faster LTE Cat 6 or more advanced LTE broadband devices in the coming months, Smart is also relaunching its Smart Rocket WiFi 5G at a more affordable price point to make it accessible to more customers.

“Smart has had a long history of offering these mobile broadband devices to democratize access to the internet, putting it within the reach of more Filipinos,” said Francis E. Flores, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business – Individual at Smart. “With lower prices, widest coverage, and ease of use now, we are staying true to our mission of empowering our subscribers to live more today.”

Smart is now offering its Smart Bro Pocket WiFi LTE Advanced (Cat 6) devices at Php1,495 (originally Php1,995), enabling more Filipinos to connect to Smart’s LTE network, which currently covers 97% of the population, at even more affordable price points.

From its original price of Php15,995, Smart’s Rocket WiFi 5G device is now being offered at Php12,995, making it the most affordable 5G mobile router in the Philippine market.

“As more advanced Cat 6 devices become available for LTE, we are also making these devices more accessible to our customers. Compared to older Cat 4 devices in the market, Cat 6 devices will pave the way to even better customer experience, enabling our customers to stay connected and live in the moment in the best way,” said Flores, adding that the battery-operated devices can be used conveniently anywhere with Smart LTE coverage.

Aside from affordable devices, Smart Bro Pocket WiFi customers can also avail themselves of a variety of value-packed offers ranging from Giga Power 149 which is valid for 7 days and comes with up to 20 GB data for all sites, to Unli Data 699, which comes with unlimited data for 30 days.

Smart Bro subscribers can also easily manage their accounts via the GigaLife App, where they can check their balance, keep track of their data subscriptions and load up.

Enabling these devices is Smart’s wireless network, which has been cited as the Philippines’ Best Mobile Network by Ookla®, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, for Q1-Q4 2022.  To earn this citation, Smart won both the Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Coverage awards in the same period.

To continue enjoying Smart’s fastest speeds and widest coverage, Smart Bro customers are also encouraged to register their SIMs now. Aside from launching its online SIM Registration portal at http://www.smart.com.ph/simreg, Smart has also ramped up its rollout of assisted SIM Registration booths and touchpoints across the country, including in government-identified remote areas.
