Converge up for two major awards at World Communications Awards

Converge was nominated for the Best Operator in an Emerging Market Award, alongside three other operators from Palestine, Morocco, and Myanmar. Meanwhile, Converge President and Co-Founder Maria Grace Uy was shortlisted for the Woman in Telecoms Award.

Converge ICT Solutions Inc. will be vying for two major recognitions at this year’s World Communication Awards (WCA), the most revered mark of achievement in the telecom industry.

Converge was nominated for the Best Operator in an Emerging Market Award, alongside three other operators from Palestine, Morocco, and Myanmar. Meanwhile, Converge President and Co-Founder Maria Grace Uy was shortlisted for the Woman in Telecoms Award.

“We are honored to have been shortlisted for the Best Operator in an Emerging Market Award. This means a lot to us as it affirms our efforts in offering world-class internet service to Filipinos. We are grateful for this nomination, and this makes us more motivated to continue our mission of fiber-powering the Philippines,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy.

“I’m beyond grateful to be recognized alongside outstanding women from global organizations in this year’s World Communications Awards. I would also like to express my appreciation to the WCA for acknowledging the role of women leaders, especially in a male-dominated industry such as telecommunications,” said Converge President Maria Grace Uy.

These WCA nominations signify that Converge has gotten a nod from WCA’s panel of over 90 judges and it has beaten hundreds of competitors around the globe.

This year’s iteration was said to be its fiercest competition to date, with entries worldwide battling to be the best of the best. It is organized by Total Telecom, an independent network specialist company that provides the information and expert needs of the global communications industry. The WCA winners will be announced on November 1 at Grand Connaught Rooms in London and is expected to be attended by up to 400 influential telecoms executives worldwide.
