Smart boosts Bataan network, attracting more customers

Recently, Smart has fired up 5G across Bataan, increasing its 5G base stations in the capital Balanga City, and deploying its first 5G base stations in Bagac, Dinalupihan, Limay, Morong, Pilar and Samal. Smart LTE is also available across the province to serve high-speed mobile data to customers with LTE handsets.

PLDT’s wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is boosting its network facilities in the province of Bataan to deliver world-class customer experience to its subscribers in the area.

Among customers benefiting from Smart’s enhanced network in Bataan is 32-year-old Marc Kenneth Abitong, an operations manager for a hotel in Balanga City. For Marc, switching to Smart is like a homecoming–from being a Smart subscriber in high school, Marc had moved to another mobile network in his college years. However, with Mobile Number Portability (MNP) now available, he has recently decided to ‘come home’ to Smart.

“My wife has been a subscriber of Smart since 2015, and I have only heard positive stories from her in terms of network reliability,” he added, eventually opting to #MakeTheSmartMove.

With MNP, interested subscribers like Marc can now move to Smart while retaining their existing mobile numbers. “As soon as I heard this good news, I signed up to switch to Smart. Just like my wife, I do not need to worry about fluctuating signals and poor connectivity, as I am now with the most reliable mobile operator in the country,” he said.

Marc made his Smart move at the Smart Store in Balanga City, where he was assisted by Smart Retail Store Specialist Alexia de Leon. “I am grateful that from this point forward, I can be of assistance to new and returning subscribers who want to join our big family here at Smart. With MNP, I hope that I can guide more mobile users like Mr. Abitong to make the Smart move,” she said.

Smart currently serves the most number of mobile data users in the country at 40 million.

With this move, Marc reunites with a network that has made him feel at home, “Now that I am once again a subscriber of Smart, it feels like a homecoming. I have never been this excited to come back to the Smart network and be at home once again.”

Smart, the undisputed leader of 5G in the Philippines, has been cited as the fastest* and most reliable** 5G network by Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis. With around 6,400 5G base stations across the country, Smart also operates the country’s widest 5G network. Smart has also been consistently cited by Ookla as the Philippines’ fastest mobile network for the fourth consecutive year.

To switch to Smart, users must first secure a Unique Subscriber Code from their originating provider to serve as clearance, and present this, along with a valid ID and any proof of mobile ownership, at the nearest Smart Store so that Smart can process their application for free. Interested subscribers can also make the Smart move via the GigaLife App or book a virtual store booking for MNP at http://smrt.ph/bookanapp.
