HPE SimpliVity solution can help lessen, eliminate complexity, lower IT spending

HPE SimpliVity is a hyperconverged infrastructure for business critical workloads, branch workloads as well as edge-optimized, that provides intelligently simple platform for customers’ virtualized workloads.

Enterprises find it hard to take away infrastructure complexity, boost performance and flexibility while reducing cost of operations. Meeting these business challenges is a demanding job particularly if you are handling huge amount of data using traditional platform. To deal with these problems, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is supporting businesses in transforming their data center from legacy to hyperconverged environment with its HPE SimpliVity solution that can help lessen or eliminate complexity and lower IT spending.

HPE SimpliVity is a hyperconverged infrastructure for business critical workloads, branch workloads as well as edge-optimized, that provides intelligently simple platform for customers’ virtualized workloads, including fast web hosting services.

“It’s a hyper efficient architecture where it uses data optimization as well as key technologies to provide a more efficient utilization for our customers, and it’s edge-optimized so it can be deployed for our customers that have multiple branches scattered across the Philippines,” said Jasper Alvin Gan, HPE’s technology architect.

Being a hyper efficient technology, HPE SimpliVity uses data optimization process, deduplication and compression that are done inline which actually average 47:1 data efficiency across all its deployment worldwide. This means that 47 terabytes of logical data can be stored in a terabyte of SimpliVity storage.

“Imagine how much savings your customers get when they shift into this kind of platform, and even a third of our customers achieve over 100:1. With HPE SimpliVity, we actually guarantee a data efficiency ratio or data efficiency our customers will experience, which is 90% or 10:1,” said Gan, adding that “customers can store 10 terabytes of logical data in a terabyte of HPE SimpliVity storage.”

With HPE SimpliVity, customers can leverage on the skill set that they have with VMware, where they can do data storage provisioning, policy-based management like backup cloning, recovery and data protection so customers can get enterprise capability without the complexity of managing an enterprise solution.

HPE SimpliVity also offers an intelligently simple experience that anyone can manage as it is an all-in-one system where the entire stack is already collapsed, removing the silos for customers with its built-in resiliency backup and disaster recovery features. He also said that HPE provide a global unified management where they integrated their management with VMware, making them as plug-in so their customers don’t have or don’t need to view another GUI or another management console to manage their infrastructure.

“This is a good feature if your customers are already familiar with VMware, and if they are familiar with SimpliVity, they can easily leverage the technology already,” said Gan.

Apart from these, the HPE SimpliVity offers a one-click update with simplified lifecycle management across its hypervisor, firmware and OS. The technology has a zero downtime refresh cycle so customers can easily or flexibly upgrade their system without disruption to meet their business requirements. Besides, it has an automatic tuning which says if the data optimization is on or off.

Another key advantage of HPE SimpliVity is that data virtualization platform spans across multiple deployments or multiple sites of customers, where they can protect their data across multiple sites and ensure business continuity plan when a disaster strikes. Customers can easily transfer data from site to site and move their virtual machines site to site as well.
