Smart, PLDT Global expand load channels for overseas Filipinos

Smart Communications, Inc (Smart) and international technology services firm PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) are expanding their suite of offline and digital distribution channels to address the loading needs of overseas Filipinos and their families more efficiently and safely in the pandemic.

Smart Communications, Inc (Smart) and international technology services firm PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) are expanding their suite of offline and digital distribution channels to address the loading needs of overseas Filipinos and their families more efficiently and safely in the pandemic.

PGC has teamed up with almost 50 global distributors to reach more Filipinos in every corner of the world. These partners include Bezeq, Chums Live, coins.ph, Ding.com, DTOne, ETAP, Grab Pay, Intercall, Kkday, Lunex Telecom, MobileRecharge, Seresa/Parasayo load, Pinoy Services, Prepay Nation, Recharge.com, Western Union, Singtel Dash, Smart Pinoy Load, Tranglo, TreatsUp, Uniwin, Venio, Ventaja, Vision, World Remit, Queen Bee, G Money Trans, Xoom, Feishutong / Jiuma, SeaGM, Hot Link, EEC Taiwan, Palau Smart Tech, Kumquat, eTop Up Online, Sisal, Rebtel, Chu Men, VIP Communication, NT Payments, NT Wallets, Shai Shop, planet talk, whitecaling.eu, Ooredoo Money App, Vodi APP, Smart tone APP, and more.

Through these partnerships, customers who need to reload their accounts in the international calling app Free Bee, or send Smart and TNT prepaid load to their families back home have the option to visit the nearest accredited partner brick-and-mortar stores or log on to their official websites for more convenient, contactless top-ups.

“During these unprecedented times, overseas Filipinos cannot afford to be disconnected from their loved ones. We want communication to be the least of their worries,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, Chief Commercial Officer at PLDT Global.

“Through our global network of distributors, we made mobile prepaid load more accessible for our kababayans so they can make international calls or send messages when they need it most. With this expansion of reloading channels, we hope that this will help them stay connected to their families and feel closer to home,” Villa-Real added.

Free Bee app

OFWs can also download the Free Bee app on their smartphones. Available in over 180 countries, the internationally recognized ad-sponsored VoIP solution bridges the distance between OFWs and their families through high-quality IDD calls to the Philippines for free. Aside from that, they can send load or pay the utility bills of their families through the app. For more information about Free Bee, customers can visit the official Free Bee Facebook Page.

Smart Load Abroad

Customers can also use the digital platform of Smart Load Abroad Facebook Page. With a simple tap on the Send Message button, they can choose to send Smart or TNT load to the Philippines for their loved ones to enjoy, pay for the top Philippine billers, and buy Free Bee or International load to equip them on their daily life while they are abroad.

These initiatives from PGC and Smart are part of a broader program of PLDT – the country’s largest integrated telco — to ensure the best and safest possible customer experience across all its business units, as the COVID-19 pandemic drives everyone online.
