The German automaker Porsche AG’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Porsche Design, collaborated with computer assembler Acer to create the Porsche Design Acer Book RS, the product of fusing the functional design and engineering expertise of Porsche Design and Acer’s latest technological innovations in computer making.
Sporting a compact all-metal form factor with a carbon fiber cover, the sporty notebook is lightweight at 1.2kg and measures 15.99mm thin. The two covers are connected by a unibody hinge that slightly elevates the keyboard upon opening the notebook, improving cooling and creating a more ergonomic typing experience. Backlit keys provide convenient typing even at night, and the precision touchpad provides multi-gesture support for more multitasking experience.
This state-of-the-art device is powered by the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with Intel Iris X graphics and optional discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU, and loaded with 16GB of RAM to ensure efficient performance. Co-engineered with Intel, the Porsche Design Acer Book RS has Intel Evo platform verified models to meet key experience targets for consistent responsiveness on battery, instant wake, real-world life and fast charge.
The Porsche Design Acer Book RS comes with a 14-inch FHD IPS touch screen that is covered with a layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass, covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, and accentuated by ultra-narrow bezels that allow an immersive 90% screen-to-body ratio. It has a battery life that lasts for 17 hours, and capable of generating four hours of usage with a 30-minute fast charge.
Meanwhile, an ideal companion for Porsche Design Acer Book RS is the Porsche Design Acer Travelpack RS which consists of a mousepad, mouse, carrying pouch, and notebook sleeve. Made from ECCO PALERMO XA leather, the travel pouch has magnetic clasps that connect the pouch to a notebook sleeve, perfect for protecting notebook from scratches and wear-and-tear. It is also water repellant.
Completing the travel pack is the Bluetooth and wireless Porsche Design AcerMouse RS. Carbon fiber is used to reinforce the left mouse button with character, and is also utilized for the mouse’s bottom cover. This material ensures the mouse has a long lifespan and also houses a DPI switch that enables users to quickly switch between three preset sensitivity levels.
