In a Facebook post, Globe Telecom reminded its subscribers to “be careful of a circulating post on Facebook and Twitter about how to get FREE EASYSURF299 from Globe.”

The fake promo “asks you to privately message the poster or click on a link. This is a prank. Please do not message the poster, share the post, or click on the link.”

Fake news is an ongoing issue, aggravated by the quarantine imposed due to Covid-19.

Globe stated that “only believe posts coming from Globe official social media accounts listed here: https://www.globe.com.ph/help/official-accounts.html.”
