Lalamove celebrates 3rd anniversary by building Kusina ng Kalinga

By the end of this year, the children of Talipapa, Quezon City will be given daily nutritious lunch meals, as Lalamove teams up with Gawad Kalinga to build a Kusina ng Kalinga.

For the past two years, it has always been Lalamove’s mission to empower communities through delivery. Now in their third anniversary in the Philippines, the company hopes to further help society by presenting a sustainable gift to a Gawad Kalinga community through their Hatid Kusina, Hatid Kalinga campaign.

By the end of this year, the children of Talipapa, Quezon City will be given daily nutritious lunch meals, as Lalamove teams up with Gawad Kalinga to build a Kusina ng Kalinga. To make the project happen, Lalamove’s goal is to reach 333,000 motorcycle bookings, 33,000 MPV bookings and 33,000 light truck bookings to help fund the kitchen that will be built in Placido del Mundo Elementary School.

Kusina ng Kalinga is Gawad Kalinga’s campaign geared towards ending hunger by bringing in schoolchildren who suffer from malnutrition to their nourishment program. The kitchen is designed to prepare up to 5,000 nutritious lunch meals on a daily basis, catering to three public schools. Parent-volunteers will serve as the backbone of their operations, ensuring that each kitchen will be managed by people who care for these children. Ateneo and the Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute developed the balanced meals to be adapted for young kids.

This project also serves as a hub for bayanihan where parent-volunteers and administrators are all essential for the KnK model to work.

With Gawad Kalinga’s effort to provide a sustainable solution to hunger and malnutrition in the country, Lalamove intends to take part in social change through their app.
