Alcatel launches 6 new Android smartphones

Alcatel is making waves in the Philippine market by launching six new smartphones.

“We’re very excited to launch six new Android smartphones to the Filipino market. This shows our commitment to making great mobile technology accessible to everyone,” said Rudolph Santos, Alcatel Philippines country head. “Our goal is simple – to make people smile. We believe in innovation that creates and enhances moments of joy for everyone.”

Alcatel 1 & 1X – 1: Php 3,990; 1X: Php 4,990

Both the Alcatel 1 and 1X are packed with features you’d be hard-pressed to find at this price point. In fact, these are the first smartphones to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio which fits the palm of one’s hand perfectly and priced in the sub-Php 5,000 range. The 1X is finished in a suede texture giving it a premium feel for a Php 4,990 device.

With a built-in 8MP rear camera (interpolated to 13MP) and 5MP front-facing camera (interpolated to 8MP) (both have flash), the Alcatel 1X’s social-media ready cameras are capable of capturing high-quality images and videos. It also comes with a suite of intuitive photo editing tools like Instant Collage, Photo Booth, and Social Square.

Running on a Mediatek MT6739 processor, both smartphones run on Android Oreo (Go edition).

Alcatel 5V – Php 9,990

The Alcatel 5V looks comparable to most flagship models with its notch design with 2.5D Dragontrail glass display and curved glass-like unibody.

With the 5V’s 19:9 infinite full view display, it gives users an extensive screen. The 6.2-inch display gives an unrestrained screen for  that enjoyable viewing experience, ideal for streaming videos or playing games.

The Alcatel 5V also boasts pro-level photography powered by artificial intelligence (AI). With its dual rear cameras with depth-of-field, re-focus, real-time Bokeh, face beauty, and real-time scenes detection, everyday captured moments are sure to be sharp, vibrant, and fun.

Adding to the 5Vs premium feature set is intuitive face recognition and fingerprint sensor. It even boasts smart on-demand object recognition with Google Lens. Add all this to an octa-core processor with 3GB/32GB of memory and a big but light 4000mah battery.

Alcatel 5 – Php 8,490

The Alcatel 5 has the selfie-game covered with its 13+5MP SmartSelfie Duo Cams. The Alcatel 5 also automatically adjusts to 120 degree super-wide angle selfie when it detects more than two faces in the frame.

The Alcatel 5’s low-light performance lets you shoot even in low lighting conditions. The Alcatel 5 also takes some cues from its bigger brother the 5V. Its 5.7-inch bezel-less design coupled with hairline brush finish on the body. And it’s even got a fingerprint sensor.

Alcatel U3 – Php 2,690

The U3 is an affordable 3G Smartphone for the first-time smartphone owner thanks to its ‘simple mode’ that allows easy navigation on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies. The U3 has a 4-inch 800×480 resolution display powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core Mediatek processor, 512MB of RAM, and 8GB of on-board storage (expandable). It sports a 5MP (interpolated to 8MP) rear camera with LED Flash and a 1,500 mAh battery, making it a fine choice for first-time smartphone user.

Alcatel 3026 – Php 2,490

The Alcatel 3026 is equipped with a large 2.8-inch screen and an ergonomic keyboard with large buttons to make typing easier. It’s equipped with a 2MP (interpolated to 3.2MP) camera, bluetooth 2.1 compatibility, 3G fast connectivity, and supports up to 32GB MicroSD card.

The 3026 is also designed to be used by seniors with it’s hearing aid compatibility and SOS feature. The 3026 enables seniors to be connected with a press of a button. The package also comes with an easy dock to charge the phone when needed. The senior need not be bothered to slowly plug the charger pin carefully.
