Shopee now offers Xiaomi products

E-commerce platform Shopee has announced its official partnership with technology firm Xiaomi to launch the Xiaomi Official Store. The partnership provides the 11-million Shopee users in the Philippines direct access to a wide variety of Xiaomi products, including smartphones as well as ecosystem products.

To kickstart the collaboration, Shopee will be the exclusive channel for users to buy the Xiaomi Redmi 5 16GB smartphone at a promotional price of Php5,990, with 10% Shopee cashback through an exclusive flash sale on April 4. In addition, users who pre-register their interest from March 23 to 31 will receive a Php250 Xiaomi voucher that can be used to offset purchases of all accessories and ecosystem products on the Xiaomi Official Store. The Xiaomi voucher is available while stocks last.

The Redmi 5 smartphone is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. It comes with dual micro-SIM; a 5.7-inch full screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio; and energized by a 3300 mAh battery. Its 12MP rear camera has a 1.25 micron pixel size and phase detection autofocus, while its 5MP front-facing camera has an LED selfie light.

Jane Lim, Business Development Head at Shopee, welcomes the Shopee-Xiaomi collaboration as according to her, the two companies have great synergies and share same commonalities.

“We are both technology companies with great growth potential. We do share a similar vision in terms of bringing technology to the region such that small businesses and consumers can get access to technology at a very accessible price, and have strong commitment to users.”

For John Chen, Regional Director, SEA at Xiaomi, their partnership with Shopee will extend their reach and highlight their commitment to bring more innovative products for Filipinos.
