Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, unveiled the Techron D Concentrate with Precision Clean Technology, a diesel fuel additive designed for one-tank cleanup and to be used in diesel passenger vehicles such as SUVs, PPVs, pickup trucks and mini-van engines.
The diesel fuel system cleaner is a patented formulation that helps diesel engine-based customers to control and clean deposits – removing harmful conventional nozzle deposits as well as internal diesel injector deposits, and protecting engines. It comes with Cetane Improver which improves combustion for reduced emissions and improved cold starting.

Manuel Valerio, technical manager, finished lubricants at CPI, said that Techron D Concentrate can be used with all types of diesel fuel including ultra-low sulfur diesel, biodiesel and biodiesel blends. One 16-oz bottle of this fuel cleaner can treat up to 80 liters of diesel fuel for every 5,000 kilometers, removing deposits and restore injection flow to help restore lost engine power and reduce engine noise.
Use the additive with a nearly empty tank. Pour the entire content of one bottle into the tank. The cleaning starts as you drive away. Valerio noted that as you add more Techron D Concentrate to the tank, the better. It is however not recommended for gasoline engines.
Owners of diesel fuel-based vehicles who experience loss of power, increased fuel consumption and higher emissions may have inefficient fuel delivery due to deposits in their fuel injection system. This is readily apparent in older engines.
With Precision Clean Technology, Techron D Concentrate can help remove carbon leftovers such as nozzle deposits, from the engine fuel system, internal diesel injector deposits, indirect injection and high-speed direct injection injectors. It does not harm after treatment devices such as diesel fuel particulate filters.
The diesel fuel additive has been tested using various industry and EOM standard tests including XUD-9, DW10 and IDID injection test. It is also effective in removing internal diesel injector deposits, as shown in engine testing and collaborative work with OEMs.
With its Cetane Improver, Techron D Concentrate can reduce the ignition delay period between first injection of the fuel into the cylinder and the start of combustion. This enhances combustion to improve cold starting; reduce white smoke on start-up; reduces engine noise; lower particulates, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide emissions; and reduces nitrogen oxides discharge from heavy duty diesel engines.
Available in 16-oz. bottles, Techron D Concentrate can be bought at a promo price of P355 per bottle until March 31, 2018. It is available at Lazada and Caltex service stations nationwide.
