The province of Cavite held its third quarterly simultaneous earthquake drill in line with the national government’s initiative to promote disaster risk awareness and management among the general public. In this quarter’s drills, the participating local government units of Bacoor, Imus, General Trias and Silang took a step forward in community emergency management and response with the use of Smart SOS Dispatch, an end-to-end solution developed by PLDT Enterprise to strengthen emergency response and management systems in the Philippines.

The Smart SOS Dispatch is a comprehensive mobile solutions package that combines Smart’s network coverage with the Genaker IP-based PTT (Push To Talk) service and NowForce emergency response application for long distance and high-speed communication between the command center and first responders.

SOS Dispatch uses ruggedized, shock and water-resistant (IP68) Android devices that are designed specifically for emergency situations. With Smart SOS Dispatch, the entire emergency reporting, response and recording process becomes more instantaneous. Its NowForce cloud system gathers all necessary information reported by a caller to a command center. This information is recorded and then processed through the NowForce CRM and sent to all concerned responding units in near-real time. This automation in information assessment and transmittal saves time and resources, as calls are instantly directed to only the most relevant and nearest response units for dispatch. Meanwhile, the PTT app helps field teams to coordinate via 1-to-1 or 1-to-many, for rapid, wide-spread and secure communications.

“We are happy to be in partnership with the LGUs in Cavite in carrying out our mission of nation-building. This is in line with PLDT’s nationwide effort that aims to promote and improve safety infrastructure and technologies in the Philippines,” said PLDT AVP and head of regional sector Dick Perez.

PLDT AVP and head of public sector Magbatoc added: “Smart SOS Dispatch is highly beneficial for LGUs, most especially in barangays where responding units need to be more accessible and centralized. The existing partnerships in Cavite is a great model for all LGUs, especially those in regional hubs such as Manila, Cebu and Davao where growing populations demand higher levels of security and public safety. With Smart SOS Dispatch, we can build the path to finally establishing an integrated security system on a national level.”

The Smart SOS Dispatch comes at a package for LGUs at only P3,500 per month for a lock-in period of 30 months per unit. This comes with an Android Device, Genaker PTT and NowForce applications, Unlimited Calling Circle and allocated SMS for all networks for 30 months.
